    Great review! Just to add that you can lock a Maxi Cosi baby seat into it too. It pops into the table and you just cross the strap over it.

    Great to see reviewers doing a mix like this, and not just SUVs all the time!
    The cargo bike looks compelling...a real option for last-mile deliveries/takeaways/etc.
    I'd love to be able to get one of these and put our two kids in the front, but with the cycling infrastructure so bad in Ireland I'd be too worried for their safety.
    Keep up the great reviews, Derek!

    I've had a bullit cargo bike since 2013 and have found it to be great fun and so practical. However the model I have is not an ebike. I'm seriously considering getting the load 75 as I think it looks to be the best electric cargo bike out there!

    In most cases it’s quicker than a car! In a city setting where there is the usual rush hour traffic on a school or crèche run, plus you can usually get closer to a shop than in a car.

      Indeed, and savings on time well justifies the costs. I use cargo bike daily, but just recently I had to do a trip in a friends car do Sandyford, it took 3 hours to do the roundtrip from Dun Laoghaire. Total nightmares'. Then I did the same trip, next week in the same time on my cargo bike, it took 1h in/out. simple, easy, and I had 2 hours back from my day. If I had to do the same trip daily I would never even consider a car, and that is just Sandyford!

    Great review. I have purchased my first VanMoof S3 e-bike recently (not a cargo) and love it. I ride a regular carbon road racer also and find they are both very different but compliment each other very well. E-Cargo bikes, as with all electric vehicles, will always push many people away due to their higher cost. But if it gets more people out cycling, that’s still a good thing.

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the comment Shane. Sounds like I was preaching to the converted. I've reviewed the Vanmoof X3 a few months back. Hoping to review the S3 soon. Hopefully cost will drop over time.

    • @shanehenderson1211
      @shanehenderson1211 3 роки тому +1

      @@NevoEVReviewIreland The S3 is so much nicer looking than the X3 imo. They are pretty much the same bike apart from frame & wheel size. I had watched your review before I took delivery. Now I have, it is so much fun to ride and that’s how I would best describe it, along with the ability to flatten hills. I live in a fairly hilly area with a 5km long uphill slog home so the S3 gets me out a lot more on the bike without the need to get kitted out like I have to on my road racer.

    Expensive for sure, but as a second vehicle for local city/town trips or a day cycle trip (even with kids) it could be good. Chuck everything in the front and off you go! No tax or insurance, and cheap "fuel". Have heard some complaints about access especially to parks and canal paths with the gates. Hopefully that kind of stuff is sorted.
    Might be worthwhile looking at reviewing other similar options; maybe a budget and mid-range one? also, not sure if I missed it but what's the max load in kg for this?

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the comment Brian. I plan on reviewing all budget levels. It's more suited to an urban environment for sure and I agree with the access points. I know local authorities are also aware. Max load wasnt included in the final edit apologies, it's 100kg in the front bucket with the carrier behind the saddle taking up to 20kg.

    Pricey option but completely justifiable when considered as an alternative to a car. Looks like they've thought of everything too, with the variety of storage arrangements up front and modular seating.

    Great to see the variety of EVs here. It may seem expensive but bicycles can last a long time and there isn't the pressure to change it every 10 years from Insurance companies. At that price the Government need to match the Car rebate scheme for all BEVs not just cars and would need to amend housing policy so planning applications have accommodation for Ebikes and ECargo bikes

    Interesting idea and very good review as ever, but sorry but no way for me, completely exposed to collision risk as well as the elements in winter. If I lived somewhere like Blackrock and worked in the city centre perhaps, but bikes and similar are really only suitable for city milage. Our atlantic driven weather is the big problem for bikes, scooters, etc, here in Ireland. Just home from an 10k cycle btw. But I nearly got frost bite this morning despite the gloves and thermal ski layers.

    Seeing how other providers already provide over 670W batteries, 500W for such a big expensive cargo bike seems very little. Once loaded with 3 children, does it get foggy in cold weather?

      @NevoEVReviewIreland  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks for the comment Aaron. I found it very capable and I had it fully loaded. The team at GreenAer have spec'd this one with 500w as they feel it's the most popular configuration but you can order it custom tailored to your needs. I had it a few weeks ago and it wasn't too cold.

      @@NevoEVReviewIreland I ask mainly because I experienced foggy "plastic" windows in bike trolleys in the past. This seems the same type of material so ventilation is key. I saw the disk brakes were hydraulic too but their site does not specify them.
      Pity it is not in my price range, I would do my shopping and school runs with it hands down over a car, specially in good weather.
