Bearing clearances and oil pump selection with correct spring! Clearances affect oil pressure! Main, Rods, and Cam bearings are crucial for correct oil pressure! 2.0-2.2 mains, 2.2-2.4 rods, AND check the side clearances on the rods! Good Luck!

Distributor depth can decrease oil pressure.Because the galley will be open also

Try the primer again. See if it’s same or better. Maybe try adding a quart of oil. Did you check pickup to pan clearance?

I heard it ok to run around 7psi for every 1000 rpm.

Oil filter bypass isn't going to change a thing. Even if it was stuck open it would only bypass the filter. It has no effect on oil pressure. The pressure relief in the oil pump could certainly have an effect but it wouldn't increase with RPM if that was stuck open.

Or that secret 1/2 oil plug might be missing?? If you look down oil send hole u should see it down there , Put a thin wire down there should go down about 10 inches or so, if it goes past the oil filter housing its missing.

Put in a stiffer oil pressure relief valve Spring.

Just wondering is the pickup tube tight how about the torque on the oil pump bolts I would think you double checked the rod and main clearences right?...

I have a 383 stroker in a 34 Ford that started doing the same thing change the oil and went to a heavier weight worked a little better but still not where it should be. Check the oil pump. Everything looks good don’t know what to do next.

Man I went to 15/40 oil and its up to 25 psi hot idling I'm not happy with it some guys tell me they are running 20/50 oil and happy mine is a 1 price rear seal block and from what I've read they don't hold as much oil pressure as the old blocks do

Have you tried switching gauges.i noticed the oil pressure was rising when you reved it.. if it was i could not see it..I would try strait 40 or vr50 weight. Just some thoughts

Man, I hope it’s just the oil bypass sticking .

Maybe try another gauge before tearing into it just to make sure if not yeah try checking the bypass.

You have internal problems, the idle was terrible. Check the timing, did you degree the cam? Pull the pan and check the bearings.

man from the research ive done the 1 peice rear seal blocks have larger oil galleys so at idle chevy said they didnt need but 15 psi so with that ive been running it and no issues

    Maybe the bypass is stuck

I made a comment about the distributor, but took it down.. I was thinking they going to think I’m crazy lol.. the second part of my comment with clearances go to a little heavier weight oil and last thing I mentioned was a leaking rear cam bearings.. I hope you find it.. it looked like you got up to 25 though

Nobody wants to hear, cam bearings not tight enough.
