Yesss! Jose is a super easy, voracius grower. Big payoff, little effort. I thought for sure you were gonna say burle marx, which is another easy one for people who worry about trying variegated plants. I had a whole spiel ready to try and convince you to love JB😂 (And i do have mine on a pole and it's gotten thicc very fast. Such an underrated plant.)
This is one of my easiest and most asked about plant I have. I took a top cut almost two years ago, which isn't easy because of the tight internodes, and the top cut definitely did well and got going a bit faster while the bottom took FOREVER to really start growing again🤷🏻♀️ BUT the bottom half did put out two growth points that actually both grew out!
The entire intro, and before I even clicked on the video, I said out loud to myself "Jose Buono" and then as you kept talking it solidified it and I repeated it again 😂 I 100% agree!! Mine has been growing surprisingly well since I bought it (the pups that are in the pot aren't thriving like the mother plant though) The mother plant has been putting out beautiful leaves for me (and pretty quickly) so it's awesome ❤
Dang Memo, I was not expecting such a beast of a plant. Absolutely gorgeous🪴! You're just showing off now...casual intro, then you hit us that beast💣 🎉 You rock👍
Im newly plant obsessed and have been making all the mistakes... but I got lucky and bought Jose Buono and every day it gets more beautiful!!! Variegated black velvet alocasia ...not so much! Loving your channel and all your advice!!
💯 this may end up being my favourite plant of all. I had mine in a bad spot and my cat kept knocking off leaves so I chopped and propped it. The top propped easily and the base branched into two. So now I have 3 vines. 😃 It does seem to get more variegation the more light it gets.
For sure Jose is the easiest Philodendron 💕 Mine lives in regular household conditions. Variegation is stable, the cream colour never goes brown and it just keeps on pushing out new leaves year round! 💯😀🇨🇦
Mine is alive. Lol. I have mine in a moss pole and it’s outside for the growing season. It loves the moss pole (D shaped). And it follows the light! It has a personality. It’s strong and very intelligent. I love it!
I am not much of a Philodendron lover, I only have three. I have a small P. Micans and I recently bought a young P. Ring of Fire. I did research this plant before buying it. And a P. Jose Buono Varigated baby. I did not know anything about this plant except it was only $14.99 and super cute. I was really hoping you would chose it for this video!
I’ve had this one on my list for a while, I’m holding out for a bigger one, have only seen babies online. I did recently get the ring of fire at a UK garden centre so maybe this one will appear soon! Thanks for the video, you have definitely sealed the deal for me on this plant 😁😊
Glad to hear it, Jem! 🌿 Keep an eye out; they’re popping up more often now. Your Ring of Fire sounds amazing too, love the fact we can find them now in garden centres! 🌟
Mine looks nothing like that 😂. Pretty sure mine is a tissue culture Frankenstein twisted monstrosity. It’s on the street right now enjoying summer. I might need to get another one because yours is gorgeous.
I have a Baby-Buono and he is really cute and fuss free. I will put it on a Mosspole, because I don't want it to become unruly. I put a Prince of Orange on a Pole and it works wonderfully, so I assume Jose Buono should be just as easy to put on one.
Too big growth habit for my home, but beautiful plant Regarding summer/winter, our "summer" is in September lol (peninsula with cold ocean breezes, hot tempts down south creates a pressure thing that causes us to be colder during real summer -- so with global warmer, we're colder lol. As south cools down, we heat up for a few weeks before winter sets in). Someone posted a Parasidio verdo in a local plant group, and I was like how did you get the varigation to stay? They're literally using during heater in summer!
@@Houseplantygoodness San Francisco, CA -- so tis Silicon Valley heating up causing SF itself to be cold to my understanding. I believe the mountains to east also play some role, and where the currents are from means the ocean breezes are cold . Also not much rain most of the year as well outside of a couple months in January (not sure why that is considering I'd have assumed ocean meant more rain prior to moving here) -- plenty of fog tho it doesn't reach my home usually (twin peaks/the gays [castro] is where the fog generally stops). We have microclimates where can go from sunny to chilly within a few miles (Sf is ~7x7miles iirc). There's a fake quote attributed to Mark Twain "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco". We're not THAT cold. We're just not hot. It makes the news when snow is seen from twin peaks (highest point), so we're also not really cold during winter (zone 10). But alas this all means lot of tropical aroids are hard to grow for me due to not getting hot enough to trigger growth, as I am not running a heater during summer (outside of vivariums, which mine are too small for big leaf aroids).
Florida Beauty is stunning too, I have been wanting one for ages, but prices here are still a bit high 😬😬😬! 🌿 But Jose Buono just has that special something. Glad you love yours! 😊
Congrats on guessing right! 🎉 Keep trying, I found the first few months the variegation was not great, but after it settled it really started showing good variegation! 🌿💚
Hmm I didn't have this on my wishlist because space is getting tight around here, but maybe I'll consider putting this on the list if I have some room open up 🤔 I have heard from others it's easy and fast growing and I like the look, it's different enough from my variegated Burle Marx to justify both, and couldn't get my Paraiso Verde to variegate. This Jose seems to have Paraiso vibes.

Jose is truly a gem! 😂 Burle Marx is great too, but JB has my heart. Love hearing about your thick, fast-growing JB on a pole! 🌿💚
Totally agree!!! I love this plant. Mines about the same size as yours. And what you said is so true!
This is one of my easiest and most asked about plant I have. I was right. I got mine as a little baby, and it grows like a weed!!! Also has gorgeous variegation
Awesome, Jamie! 🌿 They do grow like crazy. Enjoy those beautiful leaves! 😊

😂 That’s awesome, Shelby! So glad your Jose Buono is thriving. Those leaves are something special! 🌿❤️

Thanks, Dee! 🪴🌟 Gotta keep things exciting! Glad you enjoyed the reveal. 🎉

Loving your channel and all your advice!!
Pot that plant up right now! It will love it for sure!
Definitely! Can’t wait to see it flourish more, I will stop being lazy 😅😅😅! 🌿
Oh. Boy. Im in for it. 😂
Those leaves are beautiful might have to add to the list
Definitely add it, Claire! 🌿 You won’t regret it. Those leaves are stunning! 💚
💯 this may end up being my favourite plant of all. I had mine in a bad spot and my cat kept knocking off leaves so I chopped and propped it. The top propped easily and the base branched into two. So now I have 3 vines. 😃 It does seem to get more variegation the more light it gets.
That’s awesome, Mandy! 😃 Cats can be a challenge. Glad to hear yours bounced back with even more vines! 🌿🌞
For sure Jose is the easiest Philodendron 💕 Mine lives in regular household conditions. Variegation is stable, the cream colour never goes brown and it just keeps on pushing out new leaves year round! 💯😀🇨🇦
So true, Linda! 💕 Jose is a superstar in any condition. Love hearing about your thriving plant! 🌿💯😀

So cool, Craig! 🌿 These plants really do have their own personalities. Enjoy the growing season! 😊

Jose B is the best. I agree.
Absolutely! Jose B is top-notch! 🌿💚
I love my Jose Buono. I have it on a moss pole with lots of juicy roots in it.
That’s fantastic, Diana! 🌿 Moss poles really do wonders for those juicy roots. 💚
Your Jose looks; thanks for sharing Memo!
Thanks, Carol! 😊 Happy to share the love for Jose Buono! 🌿💚
Always great information and fun!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy the content! 🌿😊

😂 Tissue culture can be tricky! Hope your next one thrives like mine. Enjoy the summer, Petra! 🌞🌿

Sounds like a great plan, Rosine! Moss poles work wonders. Baby-Buono will thrive! 🌿🧡

Interesting climate you’ve got there! where are you based? 🌡️ It’s always a challenge with variegation, but your dedication is inspiring! 🌿

Thanks Memo, I`m glad I guessed correctly.....recently bought an Ebay baby Jose for £15 and am looking forward to seeing it grow.
Great find, Mark! 🌿 Can’t wait to see your eBay baby thrive. Happy growing! 😊
Love the Jose, but it got so big I chopped it an let the bottom leaf back out. The top went in the trash, hated it but had too. 😊💚
Sometimes you gotta make those tough cuts! 🌿 Glad the bottom is bouncing back. 😊💚
I have one and love it. I thought you might pick a Florida Beauty. I do know they can lose their varigation but it is so striking when it is there.
Florida Beauty is stunning too, I have been wanting one for ages, but prices here are still a bit high 😬😬😬! 🌿 But Jose Buono just has that special something. Glad you love yours! 😊
Guess is Jose Bueno!!
You got it! 🌿😊
I guessed correctly 🎉💚🤍💛 I love my JoseB! Except I struggle with getting good verigation 😢 I'm trying!
Congrats on guessing right! 🎉 Keep trying, I found the first few months the variegation was not great, but after it settled it really started showing good variegation! 🌿💚

Definitely worth considering! 🌿 It’s unique enough to justify the space. Hope you find room for this beauty! 😊
I grow my jose buono on a moss pole and it gives me huge leaves
😊
😊🌿
💌
💌🌿
I would have guessed this plant, if only I could have remembered its name 🤣😂🤣
😂 Happens to the best of us Dave! Glad you enjoyed the video! 🌿😊
Re-pot that baby. Don't propagate it!! It's beautiful. I have a baby J.B...waiting to get that big. Thank you!!
Will do! 🌿 Can’t wait to see it grow big and beautiful, I just don't know where I will put it 😅😅😅😅
Pink Princess? 🤡
Obvs 🤣🤣🤣🤣
