The video left me feeling enlightened about the complexities of intercultural communication. The iceberg analogy used to explain culture's hidden aspects was particularly helpful in understanding how cultural differences can contribute to misunderstandings. I resonated particularly with the examples of how cultural differences can affect nonverbal communication, such as eye contact and physical proximity.
I have definitely faced situations where cultural differences have caused misunderstandings. For example, in a college group project with students from different countries, we had to adjust our communication styles to accommodate each other's cultural norms. We learned to be more patient and understanding, and to focus on building trust and rapport.
Overall, the video provided me with valuable insights into intercultural communication and how to navigate cross-cultural interactions effectively. I will use these insights to enhance my communication skills and promote a more inclusive and harmonious environment.

I found this video to be very informative and insightful. It helped me to better understand the concept of culture and how it can impact our communication with others. I especially appreciated the discussion of the iceberg analogy and the different factors that influence our perception of other cultures. I will definitely be using the tips from this video to improve my intercultural communication skills.
Thank you for sharing this valuable information!

So I know it's been 6 years and you're probably in a very different place in life now. I just wanted to say thanks. Learning this is difficult! There's lots of ethnicities in my industry (manufacturing) and navigating it can be tough. Hearing that there's not a one size fits all solution isn't something I hear too often, and it helps me be aware that different people have different sensitivities.

Haha, it was not really a deliberate choice Evi - I used a free pictogram tool which also offered some maps and when you clicked on Europe that's what you got. Did not mean to erase the balkans, just limited by my own design skills :D
