EVERY TIME...and I do mean EVERY TIME....his work just leaves me speechless. Outstanding craftsmanship, sir.
Just top notch woodworking no talking .Thumbs up.subscribed .Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Kabaa
Beautiful job! You know we think you have to have a drum sander or thicknesser to be able to finish things off, instead we should look to tools that have been used for many years and still work better than most, the old hand planer!!! The colouring and the way you've done it is gorgeous. I love the lines...keep up the great work! Cheers Sean
Thankyou Sean .. I seem to use my hand tools more as I get older , I got that plane when I was an apprentice over 30 years ago and it as good as the day I bought it .. I'm not sure how many electric planers i've gone through in that time !! cheers
Very elegant! Like it. Now make some small cups to go on the side and you have a very stylish set to present small snacks at a coffee or drinks party ; ) I would buy such a thing!
What a beautiful bowl, Andy👍
Raised the bar, ya did! It is so, so elegant!
Simple start.....Outstanding finish. Well done.
Thanks Tom
I've been posting 'work in progress' pictures and footage on Instagram if anyone's interested instagram.com/andyphillip67/

Andy it is a stunning bowl. Wow.
A nice straight forward video showing good skills. Brilliant!
Very attractive. I love the different woods like that.
My fav! Every night I get to watch something you've made. It's like having dessert before bed. What a treat...without the calories. Thank you for sharing your talent. Much enjoyed.
Thanks jodi
Totally mesmerizing! You've got me wanting to try this myself. Anxiously waiting for the next episode. You know, I knew what a lathe was but somehow never saw them in action like this. The possibilities seem to be almost endless.
Thankyou .. Glad you liked it ..you should give it a try you might get hooked ...
What a lovely bowl. Good work 👍

Именно это мне и нравится в этом мастере. Не усложняет формы, не множит детали. Класс
Enjoyed the video, Andy. Very cool bowl!
Thankyou
Another beautiful piece... and loved the pattern made when it spun 😉
Thankyou .. yes it was a bit trippy when it spun !!
Was it as distracting in person as it is in the video?
Job well done Andy👍
I think I can safely say, you are really good at this stuff and I like that bowl a lot! I also bought my Stanley Number 4 when I was an apprentice, Still got it.
Thanks Steven ...
Your videos kept popping up on my suggestion stream. I can’t believe I hadn’t subscribed before; you do beautiful work.

Thanks Mathew 👍
Hey, that's a beauty, I like the off center of it. Good placement.
Thanks Lee .. 👍
This does have a kinda appetizing look. Let me explain.
When I was very young we had very little money but once a month my mom got me a semi-random sweet pastry. I got quite partial to one design that had a pattern that resembled this. I only wish I could find them again. Been almost 40 years since.
Stunningly elegant
Very beautiful! I loved it!
Thanks Andrea
Great piece Andy, nice finish too ;)

I hope you are comfortable with Charles Caleb Coltin’s words “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”?!
Because if/when I set up a little retirement shop I’ll be looking to your videos for inspiration!!
🇦🇺👍😎👍🇦🇺
Very nice !
beautiful piece.
Thankyou Mark...
Lovely work
C'est magnifique 🥰
I was thinking that it looked great as a small butcher’s block cutting board when you finished the glue up. But then you continued on to something far more beautiful....of course!
I love it!
Another beautiful piece! Hard to believe out of 91k views just 1.2k of us could muster up enough energy to tap that little thumbs up button...
Read the title. Thought: Wedge or Wenge? Read description: Realized AP was on the same wavelength for that pun 😂💜
So shiny.❤️
Q hermoso trabajo!!! Felicidades
Thanyou

Good.I am from Indonesia.
Love it!
Thanks Kathy
Very good
Thanks
Bellissima.
Another really nice one, Andy -- I really like that combination of woods. And I'll echo another commenter in that it's nice to see flattening done properly, with a hand plane. I wonder, though, why you folk in the Commonwealth nations persist in putting a hole in the bottom of your turnings and inserting a circular wood splitting device... :-) (I always glue on a sacrificial bit for a tenon.) Clyde
You Sir are a mind reader I'm not keen on the splitting device too lol .. and have made my first jam chuck today and finished the base of a bowl with it .. a much neater job .. If I had read your comment earlier you could have taken all the credit !! Thanks Clyde and have a great Xmas ..
hermoso trabajo jorge de argentina
Thanks Jorge
Watching again August 2021
I love it
Beautiful work! Did you use something specific to fill the pores of the Wenge? it looks really smooth.
Thankyou .. I used Yorkshire Grit I think that helped to fill the pores ..cheers
Spettacolo
Thanks
Cool
A quick question for you. How long should a log age before it can be turned?
I just take note of the moisture content not how long I have had a log
Can you make small balls from scraps to keep in the bowls?
رائع جدا 👍🏻
Thanks
muito bom
parabens
Thankyou
Nice one Andy. Best to put some personal stickers on your lathe so some thieving pirate doesn't steal your video.
Thanks Jim.. haven't got round to it yet ..had some on last lathe and the other week found a channel with 21 of my videos on it (scumbag)
Had my name on video and title.. they don't seem to care ..cheers
hay Andy, all those things you use to treat the wood, are they food safe cause I would put that stuff to real good use :-) :-) :-)
I'm not sure ? I would have to check ..thanks for watching
Love your work. Do you have a problem, over time, with varying moisture content to start off?
Thanks Steve .. I haven't had any major problems using different woods I use a polyurethane glue which I think helps , I have a few older pieces where one of the timbers has shrunk different to another but nothing has blown apart .. The cube vase on my channel is one to watch though lots of different timbers and end grain glue up ..cheers
Уауууу СУПЕР 👍👍👍
its biatiful
Excellent work, what is the finish you use?
Thanks Rick .. I used Sanding sealer , Yorkshire Grit and then some old hard finishing wax i've had for years ..
I really want to do this but my wife won’t let me do it in the kitchen. Who cleans up the sawdust?
mommy, he is at it again
I thought you grounded him
Супер,
Wedgewood
Lol .. 👍
Cheeky I know! Are you have a sale! Ha ha
Nice piece could do with a narrative though.
Just thought be good to see Animal prints too! Not excact! Just inspired by Africa!
!
Ever done something colours of British Flag or Kenyan? Kenyan is Green Red Black White
About 40 Pounds or less if possible!🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
I like the finish product but I do not like the fact that you did not explain what you were doing or what you were using. No good to me.
