A few years ago I studied from the Spurgeon Study Bible(CSB) and was a fantastic in depth study. Then I started Mornings and Evenings(KJV) version everyday. I still read that devotional every day and night…the beauty of his writings never get old and bring me close to Jesus.
Great video. I have a friend who as a big Spurgeon fan was very disappointed to learn that he was apparently a historic premillennialist who believed in a post-tribulation rapture.
Yes he was historic premill. Eschatology is one of those things I just don’t get worked up over honestly. People would probably be disappointed in me on this channel if I shared my view. lol. Christians have had differing views for quite some time. But no doubt Spurgeon got the the gospel right!
Great commentary on Spurgeon. It reminds all of us when we read Spurgeon, the Puritans, and other Reformed men of God about the desire to have not only head knowledge about God, Christ, and theology proper but to be able to apply it, to have a doxology, as you put it so well. Well done, my brother! I live in Texas myself, in the North Dallas area. If I am EVER in your location, I will definitely be visiting your church!
@@coltonyarbro I most defiently will! And the small country churches are the best in my book. Not a fan at all of big Eva Mega Churches. But that is a topic for another day... LOL
I enjoy reading Spurgeon's sermons. Like you, Colton, I am always encouraged by his sermons.
I always start and end the day with readings from his "Morning and Evening". I agree that it's a great introduction to his works 🙏

Right on! If you ever come just know we are a small country church, just seeking to be faithful. Appreciate your encouragement!
