What Have I done? (Jeremiah 8:6) - C.H. Spurgeon Sermon

- A sermon delivered by C.H. Spurgeon, Lord's day morning, December 27th 1857.
The preacher takes a lamp and searches out the hearers. He looks at every recess of our life: our approach to our families and children; our hopes for the future; even our evangelistic endeavours. This is a salutary, but uncomfortable, self-examination

This sermon is eye-opening. Calling my sin by name for what it actually is is devastating. Wonderful sermon for my salvation. Let me not forget.
had it not been for the mercy of God, I would have been consumed for my sins. Thank you Lord Jesus for your loving-kindness and compassion.
Even the best of our intentions are likely missing the mark, as our own judgment is impaired by our fallen nature. That thought helps us to be more forgiving of ourselves and everyone, for “we know not what we do.” It is why we have to pray always and listen for Gods guidance in everything. We are never truly transformed or freed from the “sinful nature,” which is why we depend on God every moment of every day to show us the way.
Having the hope of being truly transformed is what the Father is looking for, and strengthening us towards😊❤
It is very sad to see people suffering through out the world.
There are enough resources to help everyone a hundred times over if men had the heart to do it
@helbitkelbit1790 My dear friend, don't let anyone tell you that God's servants are nowhere to be found in North Korea. We _are_ everywhere, because God _works_ everywhere.
@helbitkelbit1790 Suffering is the result of our own tendency to sin. We all have sinned, and therefore, we all deserve the suffering that results from it. It is a very sad reality, especially when seen through a situation as bad as North Korea's, but it is a reality nonetheless. God is still working through His servants in places like that, making Himself known to them so that they might have hope beyond the despair. A hope that rests in Jesus. Why does God allow suffering? I can't say why, at least not always. I can, however, say that God works all things according to His will, and His will, though it may not always seem like it, is good or will lead to good.

When we as Christians learn that seeking His Kingdom and His righteousness first will lead to more godliness then we may understand the daily fruit of repentance. Beloved Christian, when was the last time you went through the Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7?
-Philippians 3:15-16-
Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.

The Fourth Commandment: Remember the Sabbath day and to keep it holy. Refrain from all labour.
The Lord's Sabbath is Saturday.
Papal Rome Catholism changed it to SUNday man's tradition.
In the last days before Jesus return the Sabbath will be true test.

It's odd, but one of my brothers refuses to work on Sat. He's no saved, but has always kept Sat as the sabbath. I still don't get it, but I love and pray for him.
@@donnakendall9103 I'm so happy to hear your brother keeps the Lord's Sabbath (Saturday), for he is obeying God and NOT man.
Yep that's right😊❤

Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us[a] for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
Well the only thing true about that statement is always going to be saved.
Nobody is saved until they put their faith and repent of their sins, because God works in time even though His decree is outside of time.
And God is not hiding heaven or keeping heaven from people, they do not want Him in the first place.
This message is not popular today and that's sad.
