    I just think night races belong on Saturday. Sunday races should be scheduled early afternoon so there is more time to get the race in. Otherwise Nascar reschedules the race for 11am or noon on Monday when we're all at work and that just makes no sense. Also tracks with lights need to run Monday NIGHT in case it's postponed so we can watch the race. Absolutely no excuse not to when there are perfectly good lights!

    I don't get Sunday night races. If they're on Saturday night, there's at least a chance to get the track back if it quits in time. Or, if there's a chance of bad rain, NASCAR should make a decision early enough that the race is only going to such and such a lap, so everyone has the same chance to make the pitting decisions instead of waiting until the last minute and then saying, oh, we're cutting the race by however many laps, cause we don't want to deal with trying to finish the race.. They ran under caution too long for a couple of the cautions, not just that last one. The rain calls are really getting to be problematic.

    All that, and Jr was talking about how NBC had to put them in an awkward position at the start of the race. It's painfully obvious, the time shift to Sunday night racing is affecting the broadcast, the quality of the race, and the length of races. (Chances of rain go up the later it is.) Couple that with being so late when the red flag drops, no chance at restarting the race. The move to Sunday night racing is a disaster.

    It’s time to not let stage breaks impact caution laps. If under caution, open pit road with 1 or 2 laps to go in the stage if it makes sense. It’s ridiculous to run 4 laps to get to the stage break, then open pit road, then run two more laps before going green. Especially for a spin with no debris or wall contact.
    NASCAR wanted chaos with stage breaks, but limits chaos by running additional laps under caution just to get to the stage break

    • @alanhill5513
      @alanhill5513 Рік тому

      @andrewb8017 Well once upon a time it was an open secret that drivers would do things to “create cautions.
      Some drivers used to sand bag and lay back and the racing in the middle of the races was single file and boring
      Double file restarts made restarts really exciting
      Bill France (and fans) used to hate when one driver hit the set up just right and stank up the show and run away with it.
      So stage points make drivers compete all race. Bonus if your favorite driver gets wrecked in the big one he may still salvage a decent points day.
      Stage breaks address people “causing” cautions. Now with no practice, Stage breaks allow teams to come in and get right so no driver laps the ENTIRE field
      Stage breaks generates restarts, which most like
      Teams can also pit before the stage break and forego points but position themselves for a better finish or win.
      It’s basically NASCAR addressing everything the fans demand!

    I can understand Dennys frustration. I'm surprised Nascar hasn't adopted a set way of dealing with possible rain during a race. It seems to me that Nascar treats every rain event like it's their first time. Its always an ending that leaves a handful of driver's unhappy with the outcome. Damned if they do or damned if they don't. If Nascar had a protocol that all the drivers agreed on beforehand that could make it fair for everyone at the moment it was implemented, then I don't see where any driver could complain about the fairness or how the race ended. Something needs to be done. It not only effects the drivers it also effects the fans. But somehow it always makes some people feel cheated.

Why the hell are they putting teams and drivers at risk at a track like Alanta with no practice? Who ever came up with that needs to have their head examined. And the drawn out caution at the end of stage 2, why not let the cars pit before they take 2 to go and let the stage end under caution with all the cars already taken service? And Then get Back to racing as soon as they come around after taking the stage 2 checker flag. Bunch of ifiots!!
