I did the 1hr 800 PP race at Spa with this thing and realized a couple minutes in that it didn’t have any headlights for the night. Still finished 2 laps ahead. This thing is absurdly quick

Yep just did it LOVE races in the dark did Nurburg 24hr with the super formula. Its fun to see people squirm when they realise they have nothing but the sky and a thin white line to work with

I’m surprised that its getting criticism. What does everybody think it would handle like?? Love that it has turbo lag as well because not everything nowadays has no feel! In my opinion don’t complain about the car, change your driving style to the car. This is a very fun and rewarding car to drive!
I don't care about what people are talking about I love the car I remember like it was yesterday howe the is what it like and I love it for that it's truelly a Legendary car in my book and never for got it 👍.
I do remember using the Escudo for the money grinding trick in GT2 since this thing can eat up Red Rock Valley. The amount of grip this thing has into Turn 1 was crazy.
Is that the one that gave you a TVR gift car you could sell for $250k?

@@BerserkerRohan It's crazy what our brains remember. I haven't played GT2 in probably 20 years. Wish I still had my old memory card with all the licenses and a full garage.
@@hudsonja It was the first game I remember playing but I beat it for the first time only a few years ago and finished my second playthrough earlier this year.
I tuned my GT2 escudo to fully grip around turn 1 at 340kph and my record is something like 56 second around red rock valley
This car definitely has a learning curve bit after you get used to it's characteristics it is ballistic fast. Got a 5:42 around the Nordschleife with it and I'm sure with tuning it can go even faster. It's a mental car and you definitely have to drive it very aggressively and with a touch of finesse, but I absolutely adore it
I grew up in the shadow of Pikes Peak and remember seeing this thing in the flesh. Standing 6 feet from the road when the Escudo went screaming by is something I'll never forget.
Now THATS a motorsport memory!

PP is 980+ with the High RPM turbo, It felt cool driving stock in the Time Trial but it’s basically undriveable without serious tuning. The rear spins out immediately under breaking, but if you get used to it you can keep it on course more easily
Agree but it's honestly very fun to drive it stock in the time trial! It's very challenging and never bores me

Set your braking to -2. The car is built to have steering at the rear, even though in game is base set at 0. Set it negative and it will stop sliding into corners.

You can do plenty of 800 PP events.
Instead of the 30 minutes Le Mans event I use the Escudo at Sardegna for the 800 PP event.

Just buy the power restrictor and go with the power to the lowest power possible
To all: Set your brakes to -2. It will stop the oversteer throw into corners.
Does this work for offroad too? I've been fine tuning non-stop to try and fix it.
As soon as I bought it, I tuned it down to 700PP, mostly stock settings, with some very basic (more or less random) changes to the diff, and it absolutely dominates the Le Mans race. Amazing fuel consumption, easily a one-stop only car. When someone that actually knows what they're doing throws a tune up, this thing will be an absolute monster on this race. Previously I was using the KTM as my go-to easy-win car, but the Escudo will wipe the floor with it.
Throw comfort hard tyres on to slide on tarmac as if it was dirt 👍

Hoping the Cultis makes a return too, n I’m happy this beast is back.
I’m in love with this car
Vaguely disappointed that the turbo upgrade doesn't give it 1800+ HP like in GT3 but with the nitrous tuned to max it's still over 1700 which feels exactly as wild and uncontrollable as it sounds. Very stoked that this is in the game now!
When you tuned at max is very hard to use it, but in 800 pp is incredible
The PP of Escudo is so sensitive to suspension settings that lower them can really get the car into 900+ PP, however raise to suspension up to the sky doesn't affect the control a lot and you can have way more power with that in 800PP WTC races.
I love having it back in the game, my biggest gripe is that there are almost no current events you can use it in.
I fill you on that my man and thay made it more street than rally that piss me of a bit do you feel the same about the car?.

@@dereckgoodman2348 what? It's a rally MONSTER in stock form. You have to change pretty much every single setting there is on the car to make it a road car......I'm confused lol
I love having the escudo back! I use it for the 800 pp races. I lower the power to about 669 and use medium racing tires. The pp puts it at about 799. It's perfect for those 800 pp races that give you a lot of money. I used it on the one race where you when 1 million dollars and it dominated lol.

I was loving the Escudo at Spa. Right until it turned into night when I realised that it had no working headlights.
I used this car for time trial on Gran Turismo 7 in the Colorado Springs rally track. It did the course near 1 minute 27 seconds.
I was hesitating to buy the car as I had already bought F40 earlier today, but I decided to farm for it as it was also going out of the shop. And oh man this car flies! I personally found the steering quite solid for my taste and with some tuning it will be even better. Sure, it's not a train that just follows the track at full speed, but I really enjoy this authentic breaking and steering to be fair. I absolutely love this car!
I’m glad it’s back but I’ve tuned the suspension a bunch and now I have a car that is very stable in the corner but it experiences oversteer and if you don’t catch it quick enough it violently throws the backend around and you do almost a 360
This thing is loads of fun with a proper Tarmac setup. Still a handful but really quick around Watkins Glen.
This is actually the first GT where I like the way the Escudo handles.

I just got it lol! Did a couple experience challenges to earn the money and am NOT dissatisfied in the least! It's every bit as fun to drive as it was when I was a teen, if not MORESO now that physics are damn good! She's a legend. And deserves nothing but legend status
A Time attack car, a circuit grip monster to a Group B like monster.
I did a Geo Tracker with carboard and Duct tape bodykit livery for mine, the response on facebook has been outrageously positive!
I liked the update overall, the Escudo is so fun to drive. The only thing that disapointed me was that I hoped that PD would add Pikes Peak, since this weekend is the 100th running it would be perfect.
This car is ridiculously fun you can tune it and wrap it. Tuning mine at trial mountain right now. Shaved 5 seconds just tweaking suspension and there’s more to be had.
Don't forget the original Notoriety was the Escudo glitched wheelie went Balistic Fast and all the "What's the fastest car in Gran Turismo" had an astrix
Then the LM Wheelie cars, that was fun
It’s by far the best car to farm Sardegna. I can do the 15 lap race in 24:56 by reducing the power output to 80 and taking some downforce off the front. Can bang in 1:34.8xx lap times, stop twice and run it in fuel mix 2. Done like 25 races with it like this.
There is no car, no matter how many special cars polyphony sponsors or creates, that will ever be as iconic to gran turismo as the pikes peak escudo.
It's nice that you can 'Try before you buy' using the Sport Time trial. I don't know how I was a full 10 seconds slower than the fastest in the world though - I just couldn't get it any quicker.
Turn TCS off, turn ABS to full, use throttle off to get more turn, it has massive understeer with throttle on
I'm going strait to gt body shop to see if I can get a bigger back wing to make it do wheelies again. 😎
It's a dream to drive, so much fun and the dualsense gear changes feel great

They are going to be adding the puegeot 205 T16 pikes peak Hill climb is going to be in Gran Turismo 7 sometime this year.
I have pictures of the Suzuki Cultus Pikes Peak car.. got a few good friends who will be racing pikes peak tomorrow. Jimmy Ford, Chris Strauch, Pual Dallenbach, and Jeff Zwart
Great to see this car again in the game. Hopefully this means pikes peak will become a track in GT7 and we’ll get some more pikes peak cars like the Volkswagen I.D. R.

Bought it yesterday and TBH ive not tried it at its normal tune, i just added 200kg of ballast and reduced its PP down to 800 and it performed amazingly easily winning 800 touring car races with ease.
I ran the WTC800 Sardines Grind and didn’t have to change tires! It inhaled fuel though!
Perhaps it may be worth making a tarmac handling tune for the Escudo to alleviate how wallowy the suspension is in its default tune for tarmac racing?
I have not got the suzuki car yet but hopefully they release the tack is was meant for as they have the license and the Coltis twin engine monster

I got the car yesterday right after the update and I live in North America. Not sure why a lot of people only got it today. The car is still a beast!

Right after I bought mine I took it to the Nurburgring where I ran a slow time of 6 minutes 4 seconds and some change.
I plan to use this for 800pp events. It is a fun car to drive, and it is possible to be tuned to be a lot more controllable during heavy breaking.

It absolutely decimated in the touring car 800 races, so strong!

mostly really enjoy driving this car in 7, the only thing that really bugs me, is if you mess up and get under 70mph it's like it has perpetual turbo lag until you get back up to about 70, and then it's great again. It really does make any mistakes hurt that much more though
I love the sukuzi v6 escudo I got mine to hit 260mph is still op from Gran Turismo 6

Okay, this is gonna sound a little weird, because even though I do agree the Escudo has unruly turning manners with it's high power connecting to a rally based AWD system
I actually don't think that was the case for Gran Turismo 2. It did understeer a little but I still found the handling to be very good in that game. I'm pretty sure I remember trying to push the limits of the Escudo as a kid. TBH, it was the only car in the game I felt a rushing sense of speed, in which the other cars lacked compared to Gran Turismo 1.
Nice to see it back though gran turismo now is nothing like it was back in the days of gt2 3 and 4 wish they stuck to that formula and gave actual progression

You’re right. I always feel the GT2 escudo Pikes Peak handles not that good. But it was too good to drive, we forgot about how bad the handling was
Btw the car does not have headlights. Could be a challenge driving this beast on Spa at night. Fortunately it handles rain like nothing

The escudo had excellent handling if you set the downforce to max and increase the camber.
100% accurate with description mate. my only criticism is there is no lights with no option to add fhem. i get the original had no lights but shod def make polyphony consider adding an option for adding floodlights to cars. also as a rally car maybe making a group b tuning option to be used in those comps as it was designed for off road racing.

This car will not accelerate properly for me, went on Sardegna and only change ecu to 76 from stock and it’s a bag of shite, struggles to get out of 4th gear and any inclines kill the bit of power it did have. Don’t get it. Don’t understand why it’s not working. Any help would be much appreciated

I play it for all but thay made it more street and not GB for rally can't come pet in some of rally races because lack GB. Sport.
I think dev purposely made the handling this way to avoid making it OP, still a great car, still on the fast end with decent handling with minor drawbacks, yet i dont think this car is meta or record breaking (mabe someone will prove me wrong) but a fun car to use.

I never really understood the hype, I mean yeah its quick and iconic but I feel like its mainly a nostalgic biased car, however I still do appreciate it
Well it seems that you actually know pretty well why people drool so much over this car :D I think that nostalgia always has this effect on ppl regardless of what it’s in regards to. That’s also the reason why I consider it as the best tool for marketing. We really seem to enjoy this warm fuzzy feeling we get when we recollect some dear memories.
And oh boy do ppl have nice memories with this Suzuki... I think I was about 9-10 years old when I saw this freak show of a car in GT 2 on the PS 1. I can’t recall any other title from back than that had such crazy machines I really thought of it as the coolest thing ever. It’s pretty much impossible not to take it out on the track 20 years later and see how it feels and looks after two decades of technological evolution.
If I had no experience with the older titles I’d probably think of it as a cool/unique car but certainly not as something that special.

Just remember to use the breaks in a straight line. The way the video describes the car, it sounds impossible to drive, but it is actually not hard.

Using brake boosting on GT Sport (just like my pfp lmao) almost any car would wheelie really easily, it's a shame the physics got modified.

My tune is good it took a lot of time trying to get the best tune and when I hit 170 to 180 not stiff.
