This is the epitome of what I define as my favorite style of car ever: the "Sport Boat," for lack of a better term. I would love to have both a 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst or convertible next to a 1969 Mercury Maurader in my garage!

Dear Shawn, while I agree with you, as do many MOPAR men, please keep in mind that a 426 HEMI would not fit in the engine bay believe it or not. In the magazine article on this variant of the 300, as it appeared in "Motor Trend", back then in 1970, the author of the article posed the question, and was informed by the Chrysler, and Hurst people that the HEMI would not fit with the exhaust manifolds in place, because it was too wide for the engine compartment, and that modifications to either compartment, or engine were out of the question. A piece of trivia for you, I'll send you a bill for the information provided. 😉
Neighbors of mine 8512 Meadowlark Lane in Bethesda Md had one. They bought it new at the time my father bought a 70 Chrysler Town and Country 440, in white with a black interior and power everything including rear air. I heard they didn’t even need mufflers on it. It was so long it was quiet enough they didn’t have the noise. Also the gas tank needed the extra space.
