Sorry for your loss of a good buddy , Wish more could have been shown of the old Pan , but I do under stand . I always wanted one but prices were always out of reach for me . My dealer at the time 40 plus year ago told me to stay away from them because of parts and not knowing what was done correctly . Because of bad knees kicker are no longer in the picture for me at 70 years old . Keep the videos coming .
You know. I only recently discovered your channel, and how glad I am that I did. I just turned 70 and most of the guys i grew up with "grew out" of the motorcycle life. Thankfully, I wasn't one of them. While i now ride an 08 ultra classic. I miss my panheads, and literally shed tears when I think of my knucklehead. Watching your channel makes me feel like it's a long time ago. Thank you brother. Condolences on the loss of your friend. Seem like that's one of those things that happens with more frequency nowadays. Stay safe snd thank you for bringing great memories alive again.
Hi Mike! This comming winter its time , to take the old engine apart, its a Knuckle 1947, but at the time I bought the Engine and other parts 1979 in the outskerts of New Orelans, there where no Knuckle cylinders to find at that time, so my engine has Pannhead cylinders, with rebuild heads to fit the the bolts for a pannhead, a job done by some really good American guy , so the push rod covers had to be slightly extended, but it all works good since then, but this time all my old Harley mecanics have since long time passed away, and there are not too many left to renovate an old knuckle, so I have desided to do it my self, with help from your videos and help from a Swedish guy who runs the Sportsterspecialist, he is also to old to manage a renovation, but he agree to that I could use him as an consultant. If it takes a year to do the job, it doesnt matter, I will keep records, photos, etc during the whole process, Im really looking forward to it. I will need some help as well, due to I dont have and pressing tools, etc. Thanks again for a really good channel/program, the best I would say!!!
Very sorry to hear about Bob. So glad I was able to talk to him last time I was down. He really did maintain an incredibly positive attitude and fought the goog fight. He will be missed. Great to see LC making music again. DTS Mike will be very happy. Check another commitment off your list brother. Hope to see you soon.
Been a great series to watch Mike with the progress on the ole Pan Head "L.C." Learning about it running two right-hand side flywheels wasn't something I was aware engine builders did. Very sorry to hear about your Brother Bob. I must truly say that the ole girl sounded healthy. Looking forward to the next project.
My condolences for your loss,Mike.. He's in a much happier place you can bet on it! The pan sounds awesome!!! Take care of yourself,my friend.. Ya sound a little gravelly! I'll be waiting for your next video, sir!!! 2 wheels down! Peace.
@@pacificmike9501 Mike I m in ireland and grew up seeing older dudes with custom harleys, what I remember is one particular bike a shovel and I don't want to describe it cause they will be watching You too. But this man who owned the shovel head had such a influence on me and my dream bike would be a shovel excaltly the same as his to this day, includeing same frame, tank and paint. the bike, the sound of the motor, the special paint with the flames. And also the interaction I had with this man. I remember him telling me how Harley Davidson were the Rolls Royce of Motor Bikes when I was 9 or 10. Don't know if this makes sence but it was part cool bike and bigger part cool dude. To this day that man is a hero to me. He was just the dude.
