Wow, I can really picture the completed bike now. Love the tank and script. Flat heads have an uncluttered look , not that knuckleheads are superfluous, ( that's a biker term ). Today's video was a big step forward. Really enjoying this build, thanks Mike.
Hello Mike, Thanks again for a very detailed VIDEO This particular one emphasizes just how Different an ENGINE & Transmission installation is ... between the older Flathead / Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead is & the RUBBER MOUNT - EVO - FXR's & DYNA's that I struggle with - LOL Thanks for the DEMONSTRATION COOP .........................................
FXR and Dyna, I use two jacks. I lift the engine and trans both until they CAREFULLY align. Then, CAREFULLY align, install engine bolts at the back of the engine and, of course at front onto mount. So, with the front mount loose and the pivot bolt in at the rear of the trans, install the inner primary housing, again, carefully aligning. Tighten it all up a little at a time. Not fun, but not real hard.
Happy I am to see you looking (and sounding) so well. Be happy with your weather - we had a small amount of snow overnight; just enough to scrape it off the sidewalk.
Thank You and backatcha. I just took a ride in the mountains on Sunday. Snow on the ground. Roads were dry, except where there was shade. Slip and slide through there. But, the most beautiful time of year in the SoCal Mountains. (No big deal, only around 6,000 or so feet)
@@pacificmike9501 You bring back memories. Years back I rode a 500 single to an appointment on a sunny dry day. Walked back out to 2-3 inches of snow on the ground. Leaned how to flat-track on the way home - and don't care to repeat the episode.
The engine looks just fine. I could sit and watch and listen to your depth of knowledge all day long. It makes me wistful for my riding days which ended not so long ago. I had a 45 in the early 70's and just loved the simplicity of it. Good work Pacific Mike!
Good morning Mr. Mike, thank you for doing all of this for us. It's a lot of fun watching you go through this process. I like the black tanks with that H-D paint scheme. That looked realy cool. Have a great day.

That caliper was used across the board on all Harley models for years. Stay safe from Seattle

as I was sitting here watching you mock your bike up I was thinking of a nice patina coverage on your bike leaving the rusty frame and clearing it along with everything else but that's me by showing old school style I love the bike the mock up is going great Mike keep it going brother
Thank You. Back in the day, you would "brush paint" the frame. I had to know what it would be like, so I did it to Babydoll's frame last time the engine was out. Took time to practice, but once I figured no brush marks, it came out beautiful. I like "beautiful."
Awesome video, Mike. There's something about a BT flatty. I had a lot of fun on mine. I've never had such a easy to manage old old BT. It ran like a watch, never failed to start and just went and went. Showed a lot of Shovel's and Pan's up. That's the way I see it. The flywheels were stroked by Mr, Clell Richards for me. They are at 4 1/2. The Leinweber's (father and son) are grinding me a set of cams, and so on and so on. It will be fun. Thank You.
@@pacificmike9501 Yeah it's the right move, Mike. Ah she's already stroked then. Are you going to increase the capacity of the heads? people here tend to take them up to 125cc offers a big boost in power.
That is beautiful Mike, a little tip for you, have you thought about welding the two together or just smooth them on the inside, then you can widen it just a little so that it is not so visible, and at the same time increase the volume for longer runs, so you don't have to look for a gas station all the time, just a thought.
Not a bad idea. Volume should be okay. Going to eliminate the the oil tank wall. It will be all gasoline. There are some other things coming up that may necessitate the tanks staying split. I don't know that it will all work the way I want, but thanks for the suggestions.

Hello Mike and good morning🙂. "IT WILL BE A NICE BIKE FOR MIKE" Kjell"the swede" 👍🇸🇪
Hope so! Thank You.
Looking good Mike it's getting there ..😍😍😉😎
I actually am excited. Thank You.
Great videos !!
How will you treat the cylinders ?
What kind of paint and how ?
Thank you !
Greatings from Norway
Thank You. The cylinders are cast iron. I do all cast iron cylinders the same. The only variation seems to be gloss or semi-gloss. I always do them black. I heat them in the oven, load the paint on and stick them back in the oven to bake for awhile.
Oh man can’t wait for the next one.
Thank You.
this channel just popped up and im glad it did , back in the 90s i was going to buy a friends K model and just as i got the cash he blew the motor , i was crushed and bought a evo sporty , still got her too but i wish i had got the flathead , i would still own it , he did get it fixed , set of cases cost him too much so he kepf it
K models are very cool. Not sure I'd like one as a daily rider though. You've been able to ride that Sportster as much as you want.
Hey Mike, this is Eric from Oceanside, California. I was just thinking about something one of these times you should watch the videos from the Harley deal in Maggie Valley. They restore bikes and a lot of different things in the way of Harley Davidson.
Yes. That's Mat Wacksler. He's really done it. His dad started it. He worked with his dad and he is carrying on a beautiful family tradition.
