I am extremely proud to say my husband served and fought for our country. He very recently passed away from brain tumors. Two days ago I was handed his flag at his celebration of life ceremony. It has to be the most moving and touching treasure given to me.....after seeing this video the meaning is just that much more powerful. God bless America

I received my fathers flag 3 years ago. My brothers widow will receive his in 9 days and someday my son will receive mine and someday god willing his wife or children will receive his.
I have my grandfather's and my dad's. I'm 73. My wife will keep mine and send my dad's to my sister and grandfather's to our cousin who is a vet but he's the next oldest.
Having served in the US army for 9 yearsI have had the distinct pleasure and honor to escort my brother's home from two theaters of war and had the distinct honor of handing these flags to their spouses as well
Darryl, I have never had that privilege or honor of escort duty after 10 years in the Navy. I'm a Nam vet and have lost friends and relatives. I thank God for those of you who did, and do. Because I know they will receive the respect they deserve. We all signed a blank check when we raised our hands. I guess God is selective in who he calls. God bless you, brother. And welcome home.
I have been collecting various videos about our flag in honor of Flag Day next Monday. When I saw this one I stunned. It was one of the ones I am missing. Great timing folks!!
How strong are the words that come with the flag as it is folded, And How strong is that flag that is given to a greving Spouse, Father, Mother, or Child. My Father accepted the flag for His Father who fought in World War One. I acceptred His Flag for his service in World War Two, I served during Desert Storm and one day my wife or a member of my family will accept mine. That flag is a gift, an honor, a pledge, and a right. Remember those who come before you. Thise who cane back, and those who never did, As Freedom is Never FREE!
Something too remember and present a folded flag at family gatherings on our country holidays..and remind them or teach them what this symbol really means.
I have my brother’s a Vietnam combat veteran.From my brother my grandson learned the honor for military and love of country.He just graduated Combat Engineer 12 B Sapper Jared’s answer to why this is his calling and he is honored to serve his country and uncle Bill’s memory.
