    Lower the cost of healthy food and massively increase the cost of junk foods because if you are on a budget what choice are you going to make 🤔

      I agree. Junk food should be heavily taxed, and healthy food should not only be affordable but also easily accessible. Maybe some initiative can be put in place which encourages more people to grow their own fruit and veg?

    How is it we can give people £400 to loose weight when people are struggling currently with money?

      I presume the calculation is that it costs less to the country to have people lose weight. Obesity costs the country money - NHS, sickness days off work, injuries, etc.

    Why do people always assume its cos of food. Not everyone is overweight cos of food.

      So if you don't eat food for a week you'll put on a weight? Yer hormones can raise or lower basel metabolic rate.. But you can't put on weight without eating

    Not with anybody’s taxes. Money should go to people with food insecurity, not those who eat too much

    Extrinsic motivation only lasts short term. Once the incentive goes away so does the behavior change,

      Extrinsic motivation can get someone started in the right direction. Sometimes people only need a push to do what they know they should do.

      @@jujutrini8412 unfortunately studies show though that may be the case if people are extrinsically
      motivated once the extrinsic factor is removed the majority revert to old behavior. Intrinsic motivation is what produces sustainable change.

    This is easy to say to someone who is overweight but still physically active. However, there are people like me who have difficulty losing weight because they are partially disabled and unable to do most exercises.
    You could say just don't eat that much or at all. I agree! But I have another illness that requires medication to be taken with food, otherwise I couldn't stand the pain in my stomach area, but that again would disagree with this more than most of you, we don't need £400 if healthy food was cheaper than junk food.

    No, but we should try shaming and laughing at them again. Or at least, dont glorify and quit pretending being 1000 pounds of lard is anything but incredibly unhealthy.

    • @JWK35
      @JWK35 29 днів тому

      Whilst we shouldn't accept and normalise obesity, I think we should still accept and support someone's efforts of becoming healthier. Imagine spectating your town's local road-running race and heckling or insulting the slower half of the field, or pointing and laughing at an alcoholic whenever they go out in public.
