lucky for us that Quincy Jones and others called Mr. 335 to sit on some sessions. Not only is he a phenomenal guitar player, but a great man and human being!

Here's a guy that can play the guitar superbly and has rubbed shoulders with all the greats yet is so humble and appreciative of everyone who has asked him to come along and play - what a lovely fellow.

I had the pleasure of meeting Larry and doing work on some of his guitars when I worked at Valley Arts Guitar 1987-90. he is indeed truly a gentleman among musicians. Sitting across from him and watching him play Will always be a great memory for me.

I remember going up the stairs at Valley Arts to the guitar shop. Up there was Mike Mcguire, Bob, Larry Carlton and Dean Parks! I felt my guitar did not deserve to be worked on in their company!!!

Valley arts made an acoustic guitar for him. A signature model. Are there many around or were they just made for larry?

Always loved the way a 335 vibrates your chest when you play it. You can literally feel the notes

He played guitar on the album "Clicks Modernos" by Charly Garcia. One of the albums that pioneered the sound of the 80s but more importantly stood the test of time as one of the greatest albums in Garcia's entire career.

Cool interview. Always loved Larry Carlton and pound for pound, it's hard to beat a 335. By the way...those quick glissing single note slides remind me a lot of the late, great, Clarence Gatemouth Brown.

With the pandemic and working from home I was able to listen to a lot of Joni Mitchell. I heard the popular Help Me, Free Man, Chelsea Morning, Yellow Taxi from back when I was 12/13 years old but lately I have listened to Blue and Hejira in particular. Incredible albums. Carlton is just amazing. Amelia... what a song. And on and on....

Larry just seems such a sweet guy, and what a player and career! The Lord probably has an amazing 335 waiting for him way down the road when the time comes...hopefully he'll have plenty of time to give a fellow player a few tips then. : )

This man should be a total inspiration to every guitar player. The intro to Steely Dan dont take me alive is great. The other thing I heard is that he got shot. Most underrated guitar legends no one has ever heard of, kids today dont care about good music anyway. My take!!

Interesting enough, Larry's first session guitar was a Gibson 175. It was used on his first album "With A Little Help From My Friends", and he played it in many clubs, and even The Forum in 1972 with a group called "Cymbal and Clinger"11
