The original Inspector gadget started in 1983, I think that would be fun to watch!!
It looks like there's a 1983 Hanna-Barbera show adaptation of Lucky Luke you guys could check out, since you've already seen some of the film adaptations of the character. It also might be interesting to check in on some of the longer running animated shows like Scooby Doo or Peanuts, to see how they've changed since you last covered them!
One show from '83 that I think you should watch is "Dungeons & Dragons". It was co-produced by Marvel Productions and TSR and animated by Toei Animation.
I say Inspector Gadget. But as I was looking Super book came up. Which was a series I remember seeing where these kids get sucked into the Bible to find their dog. This where I first discover anime.
You mentioned He-Man, but you're free to put that off until 1985 because he and She-Ra got a theatrical release with The Secret of the Sword. I'm OK either way.
A TV Special That You Should Watch Is The Wind In The Willows (1983) By Crosgrove Hall. It's A Stop Motion Animated Film Based Of A 1908 Book By The Same Name.
Some recommendations: The Wind in the Willows from 1983, I don't see it on your watch list so I'm mentioning it to be safe, a heartwarming movie adapted from the classic 1908 book of the same name. I recommend the extended version which is available on youtube. Shorts: Halas and Batchelor made a short film in 1983 called Players which sees two tennis players fight against each other which is more on the humorous side. A new Cheburashka short was made this year called Cheburashka goes to School from Soyuzmultfilm. There's also a short film called The Fight Between the Snipe and the Clam from China made with ink paintings which is worth looking into. Cheers for another good animation year!
I was going to recomend the first one as well.
I've been waiting for this. So many famous cartoons got their start in 1983. I can suggest a lot, but I want to see what others come up with first. For now, as an 80's kid, one of my all-time favorite Saturday morning cartoons was Dungeons and Dragons.
Dragon's Lair. Technically it's a LaserDisc video game, but Don Bluth made it.
How about another Garfield special released in 1983 called "Garfield on the Town"?
YES PLEASEE
MRS FRISBY AND THE RATS OF NIMHH!!!!
Might I suggest _Dragon’s Lair?_ Even though it’s technically a video game, it was one of the first (if not *the* first) to use full motion video, with animation by our home boy Don Bluth. :)
I'd suggest Armored Trooper VOTOMS, a mecha anime not widely known but I feel it needs more exposure because it really pushes the "Real Robot" Genre further than Gundam. The main character doesn't have just one mecha, he goes through a whole bunch of them.
1983’s DAICON VI is one two 8 mm film anime short films that were produced for the Daicon Nihon SF Taikai conventions. They were produced by a group of amateur animators known as Daicon Film, who would later go on to form the animation studio Gainax. The films are known for their unusually high production values for amateur works and for including numerous references to otaku culture (Darth Vader, Superman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, appear alongside a Gundam cosplaying Doraemon and that is literally only less than .05% of the references in this thing), as well as its unauthorized appropriations of the Playboy Bunny costume. It has been restored into high definition as of two years ago and features music by English rock band Electric Light Orchestra.
Daicon IV is so epic.
does puppet animation count? if so, Fraggle Rock!
oh also garfield on the town. i love garfield. more garfield.
There is a block of cartoons created by Ruby Spears called Saturday Supercade...and it is all based on video games..here are a few examples, Donkey Kong, Qbert, Frogger.
Oh boy so there was a show called Mr. T. It's about cartoon Mr. T played by real life Mr. T as a gymnastics coach. With a team of young gymnasts, a kid who dresses like Mr. T, and a dog with a mohawk.
The show is peak 80s schlock and Mr. T is awesome.
How about the anime Cat's Eye? That came out in 1983. (At least the first series because this anime was actually divided into 2 series')
inspector gadget! wow i had no idea it started so early in the 80's. but yeah i have a lot of nostalgia for that show, i wonder how it holds up in just the first couple of episodes.
Mickeys Christmas carol (1983)
Some recommendations: treasure island (takarajima), animalympics, the snowman, when the wind blows, fox and hound, black cauldron. Edit: sorry random years.
The Hanna Barbara Pac-Man Cartoon series. 1982-1983.
How about Mickey Chrismas Carrol a classic That starred Mickey in first Short in 30 Years that was reeleased in late 1983
What about Fire and Ice (1983)? Xxx
You should for sure check "Patalliro! Stardust Keikaku" & a few eps of "Stop!! Hibari-kun!". As someone who really likes digging through older instances of LGBT rep in anime/manga, both are super interesting from a historical perspective.
Please do see Cosgrove Hall's The Wind in the Willows. You won't regret it. In fact, you could even say that you would WISH Studio Ghibli has done an adaptation of that story.
The Saturday Supercade which was the first animated appearance of Mario.
I'd recommended this movie called Abra cadabra, it's really obscure to the point were (to my knowledge) a pretty low quality upload is the only known footage online.
I wish that you still did Drawing a blank video, those were my fav to watch but if you like doing this kind of stuff don’t stop.
Daffy’s fantastic island
Unico in the island of magic
I’ve been watching your videos on how to draw cats and fur pattern and face shape. And I got better at it but I just can’t draw their head at an Engle or their eyes. Can you pls make a video about it?😅
The Magic of herself the magic elf 1983
Old shows are not IT
