I grew up near Ventura. Spent a lot of time charter boat fishing near Anacapa and Santa Cruz islands.

Fantastic! I LOVE those islands. They represent what California was BEFORE white man. Snorkeling in the giant kelp forests while the plankton is breeding and feeding the colorful fishes and the seals and star fishes and on and on...is an INCREDIBLE experience! They must be protected and respected. A best kept secret (shoosh don't tell too many people) but plz do send money donations to help protect and preserve this sacred place. Thank you for a great film!

San Nicholas is Actually my Favorite Of Channel Islands Of Them all because I’d grown up with The Book 🐬Island Of The Blue Dolphins🐬 about The Tale Of Karana Bassd On The Lone Woman Of San Nicholas Whom was left to live by Herself alone for 18 years from 1835 to 1853 !!!!!!!

Laws have changed though. It's sad to see the "epitome of western civilization" turn into a dystopian chick flick.

I grew up in Huntington Beach...I think for most Southern Californians, they don't have any idea there are islands out there past Catalina...and most Southern Californians have never even been to Catalina...I'd love to take my boat to San Nicolas...or San Clemente...

As a Southern Californian I think you are wrong. While most haven’t been there I can guarantee that almost everyone know the islands are there.

@@deedubs602 I think you are one of the rare ones. I think most people know about Catalina, even though half the time you can't even see it...almost nobody has heard of San Nicolas, San Clemente, and Santa Barbara Islands. I get it, though. Even on the clearest days you can't see them...And unless you got a bog boat, you ain't going out there to see them. Too bad. They are very pristine.

@@touchsong999 Lol...Even Catalina has been spared for the most part. Most people don't like the boat ride. They get sea sick...but yeah, turning those other islands into Balboa or Lido would be a shame.
