Indeed. I often refer to "the glory days". I would go to sleep at 5 pm then get up at 2 am to watch Korean or EU tournaments live. Take days off work. Sigh.
FruitDealer is in the World of Warcraft Pandaria zone, in the town of Halfhill. I was sooo excited when I ran into him. Love to see SC2 get some respect.

all the hype, the waiting was over, the game was great, it looked great, i could not stop playing (i still play a lot), the gsl was great, code A, code S, starting at round of 64!! huge crowds, etc, everything was epic.
MC, MVP, Nestea, MKP, Boxer, Kiwikaki, Idra, Jinro, guys like Nada en July were also playing!

I watched this live at 4am from America. Absolutely the hypest tournament ever. So happy to see this covered!
The name FruitDealer is remembered by all SCII hardcore OG fans. Just a pity though that he never got any decent results after his GSL run.

At the time, I would absolutely not have bet on zerg winning the first GSL. There were a ton of really strong T and P all-ins (BitByBit's Marine/SCV-pull was probably the most infamous, though maybe that was a later season) that no one had figured out and tiny maps that made them crazy strong. Not dying was really tricky as zerg back then.
Best of 5’s are also really good for Effort when its vs Flash

I wish there were more 4 player maps; viewing games has gotten SO boring IMO. The speed and inhibitor zones are cool but they’re not used enough; and the heal zone things are meh.
You know tasteless. Really dropping the ball by having all your plugs over the mini map of the whole game instead of in the description like a normal human.
He fixes it halfway through but you’d think as a starcraft person you’d know where not to put your shit lol

your voice sounded more monotone because smoking (even small amounts) tobacco literally paralyzes a large portion of your vocal cords. i used to have the same issue. and everyone i know who smoked and quit had the same pretty big expansion of the tonal range in their voices. of course knowing how to speak better was part of it. but you physically couldnt access more tone if you wanted to if you even smoked just 10 cigarettes per week. the heat and carcinogens pretty much instantly paralyzes the cords and parts of your taste buds and parts of your nasal passage. its why smokers cant smell or taste as much as non smokers too. congrats on successfully quitting smoking. its notoriously one of the hardest things a human can do. harder to quit cigs than it is to quit opioids

lmfao its fuckin goofy how people much a big deal out of him helping his parents sell fruit. smh. you don't hear him talk about who owned the farm though, or who actually picked and stocked the fruit to bring it into the market. so did he really sell fruit or was his grandma sick so nobody was at home to watch him so his parents took him to work with them like most people would do when having no choice?
A lot of what if's here man. Why get so bent about a cool story. You might as well go further and say who are the people making the chips in the computers that they played games on? Who makes the phone you use, or the sneakers you wear. What a strange thing to focus on.
