- Pretty rare to see an 8-second twin turbo Ford Lightning pickup! 1320Video showed up at Texas Speed Syndicate’s Quick 30 drag racing event where anything and everything came out to play! We love these unique creations - especially when they weight 4000 pounds but have no problem screaming down the track! Not only that, but this truck is packing a Ford Coyote V8 engine and holds the record for the quickest and the fastest Coyote powered F150 ever!

It's not stock. He says it's an Aluminator with pistons in the video. Still very impressive to be running 8's with only 885 HP and 4000lbs.
Probably my favorite 1320 video now. I drive a '94 F150 my dad bought new and gave to me when I turned 18. Love that thing (and Lightnings - not to mention my dog is named Lightning - love him more than any and all vehicles!)

Enough with the LS swaps. There's so common that it just gets stale and boring. Nobody wants to see the same engine in every build that every gets done. To do an LS swap is to fall in line with all the other ls swapped cookie cutter project cars. I'm glad this guy didn't LS swap his truck because at least somebody did something different
L Harris for some doing an LS swap it's because they OWN A GM product! what makes it stale or boring is when people use them in every other car brand because of the low cost and high power reward. Credit where Credit's due.

I get why it's popular. if you swap and LS into a GM car or truck that's fine i don't care about that. it's when you see an LS swapped into a honda, a ford, a dodge, a toyota, a nissan, etc it becomes stale, boring, and people like me eventually stop caring if a non GM product is LS swapped

the garrets are good turbos but the Borg sxe range will do as well without breaking the bank
I'm running a single gen 2 gtx3587r on my 20b rx7 and its the absolute best I've ever invested in the ceramic ball bearings make a huge deal and the new compressors really helped a lot didn't even change my tune and the dyno sheets are dramatically better I promise you wouldn't regret em and to know if you have oil or water failure you won't fry it is great insurance on a turbo investment
I'm a engineer for metaldyne we are a automotive leader in cnc and 5 axis manufacturing and trust me we make a lot of Borg parts and you wouldn't believe the amount of out of spec parts they make us ship and pass I'm not talking 30 microns out I mean ridiculous can't even say because I could get in trouble status but its your money I guess
4nuk8r I don't disagree with you but being a engineer and specializing in cnc/5 axis and cad I make great money just under 6 figures and one Fuji cnc lathe/mill would be about 250k not to mention tooling and the power it takes to operate it so kind of hard plus land contracts to pay for operations let alone over head

billy heaton what do you mean, "and ?" I was stating that because people love stating that LS engines are cheaper to build. I've always told people that all you have to do is forge the bottom end of a coyote, add forced induction and you're done. You don't need heads, cam, or intake. Same thing went for the 3V ohc engines, as I've built some.
Is it just me or is the motor not level or parallel with the chassis/body?
NoClassic stock F150s of that vintage have the engines mounted about 3 inches to the passenger side for steering shaft and box clearance.

Love the truck. However i call BS on the MPG. A stock new f150 5.0 would probably fall short on that MPG. Nice truck though.

It is insanely common for Ford owners to overstate their MPG. A group of guys used to go to a nearby city for a truck festival, our one Ford friend would always fall behind about 20 minutes, when we would fill up his truck would always burn at least 10L less than the GM's. We wondered why for a bit and then we found out he would throw 20$ in at a full serve and try to catch up, just to say his Ford got decent mileage. Talk about fanboyism.

I agree there was a ford guy with a cummins 4bt swap in his truck claiming he was getting 45mpg. He also said he was pushing 50psi. I asked him which turbos is he running and he said it was a single turbo and I laughed and walked away.
