These type videos usually end up with the goal not being reached, however I had my doubts but I take my hat off 🎩 the job was completed which is great! Well Done great job, I’m sure this will help many people facing this daunting task 👍
You sir are a lifesaver My brother's Camaro SS has brembo brakes we try all day yesterday to get the pins out. I'm going to try your tips here in just a little bit wish me luck
Great job, I had the same problem this morning. I got one out ok but the lower one was seized. I made a short (3/4") punch from the shank of the same dia drill bit, held it with mole grips and hit it squarely and firmly with a decent sized hammer (luckily my pins did not protrude beyond the face of the caliper so there was less chance of rivetting)
Excellent idea bunnybr - using a dremel (other makes are available). Cut 12mm out of the centre of each pin. Remove caliper then slide brake pads thru the gap. Refit caliper, cut pins again but this time level with the caliper getting them fairly flat then punch out. Rear pins can be punched out by going over the top of the caliper and down onto the pin.
All those techniques while a good start failed with both my Brembo caliper pins. Even carefully heating a localized area around the pin did not work. I had a Eureka moment thinking an impact action could break the corrosion and free the pin. I had an air powered high speed impact nailer and applied it to the end of a road positioned on the end of the truncated pin. Ra ta ta ta and out it came. The second equally easy. I could have saved myself hours trying this technique first!!! Jim
ok but use some brake cleaner instead, much better cleans real good and is made for the purpose the deicer naah not good for the rest of the brakes kind of nr 1 rule lol
Make sure they are copper greased before they go in and take them off and clean them regularly. That is a sure way of being able to get them out without breaking them.

Brilliant! Really useful video! My seized pins came out really easily after picking up some tips! Thanks

Thanks, very helpful! :) Struggling with this myself at the moment.
Absolutely excellent video instruction. I just found the pins stuck into my motorcycle caliper and tried a few things, but, I will try these as well.
Same for me 2 years later. Glad I'm not the only one having trouble with these poxey things! 😅

Thank you so much, will try your methods. I brought new pins as the old ones are damaged with all the hammering.
Saved me man. I thought I had run out o options, thank you

I’m living this right now.
I feel your pain… I am living this and also twisted off both caliper bolts as well… I hate rust.
Well done! Very helpfully video thank you
Thanks for this video very helpful

Excellent advice. I need a better punch drift
onside on pegueot 406 was so badly rusted in i had to drill them out in the end
i just done my and these pin was a pain i cut it and hammer it out with any axe and just replace the pin easyest and best way.
Any advice if the pin has mushroomed/riveted in the hole?
Get any help? Deal with this right now. How did you end up getting it out?
Drill it out, the pins are quite malliable
CUT IT

🤣😂
any way to get it out without breaking the fucker?

Wow that's a horrible design every little piece can rust bc nothing is in closed.
Stupid thing I have seen today. Heat the caliper using burner, apply WD 40, use the punch and they'll come off.
