To do it with the inner critic anyways and it would eventually won’t be as strong of a influence in thoughts.

That thoughts are not always the truth and that exercise is so important. Going through a tough patch atm and I’ve started running again to rid myself of all the excess emotional energy and to get the endorphins following; It helps me immensely.

All of them!! Spot on in my opinion and great video as usual!
It takes a while to put all this in practice because all of these things need to become habits. In my experience one needs at least a few weeks of regular practice to form these chips in our brain that make us think or do the right things that you say, while the bad chips formed in the past slowly get rusty and deteriorate. And any relapse reinvigorates the bad chip again, unfortunately.
Now I'm still struggling with daily exercise, but I agree that even a walk makes a big difference. I walk everyday using public transports normally. If I use the car instead for 2 days and don't do any other physical activity I feel it immediately.
A few months ago, I felt suddenly quite depressed, like I've probably never experienced in the last three decades. Having learnt the lesson I went for a 10K run, and the depression was gone an hour later!
Ok it was a temporary thing and running is not the cure for depression but it does help a lot, as many researchers have proved.

I want to work on taking better care of myself physically - eating better, exercising more, etc. I always wonder what it would feel like to live in my body at peak performance haha. I'm tired of living my life through a veil of mental fog...

5 Things that Make You Happier
    1. To set goals: The point of having
a goal is not just to reach the goal the point of having a goal is about
the process of how we need to grow how we need to stretch ourselves what we need to overcome the things that we need to face and deal with in the process of getting to that goal.
    2. Not believe everything
    you think.
    3. Not let your inner critic
take over or make your decisions for you.
    4. Keep your eyes on your
own practice do not invade anybody else's space with your comparison. In other words, do not compare yourself to anyone else. Someone else's journey is none of your business. What someone else has going on, someone else's success, someone else's failure, it's none of your business because it has nothing to do with you and is a waste of time.
    5. Taking care
of your body both physically and emotionally and mentally.

Until I opened myself and allowed help in my life thats when I found you on UA-cam, ever since me and my wife have applied what we have learned from our therapy sessions. I myself suffer from bipolar disorder and I get quite anxious in certain situations mainly from past traumas slowly but surely I have been managing my anxiety with breathing and changing my mindset to be the best version of a father to my 3y.o son and a better husband to my wife. Thank you for your work and we appreciate you hard work. We workout as a family.

I've been listening to several different videos in the last few months. I used to go to a therapist a few years ago, and would benefit from going again, but unfortunately with health care so expensive I just can't afford to go regularly with the health care bills of my children as well. Anyhoo, this has been a godsend and I've gained a lot of insight through watching these videos. They've made me feel less alone and more empowered in getting a healthier mind and body.

Hello Julia. Kapil here from Delhi, India. I'm so so so glad to have found you. Through one of your videos I found out that I am a highly sensitive person. Each word you said in that video resonated deep and it was an epiphany. How I connect with food, music, animals, politics etc, is just so crazy and non-normative. But I've always been a little critical of myself for being that way. It's like I just can't chill and everything is just a big drama and it can't be the other way. But your video made me know myself and embrace it. I found my strength which as you said is how people confide in sensitive people too soon because the comfort they feel is just very strong. And we're genuinely empathetic and helpful. But I really need to work on the boundaries part. Listening to you is really therapeutic. It's like you're talking directly to me. Wish you were my psychologist for real.
My first video of you was about how to deal with a partner who has depression which helped me a lot to understand my boyfriend who's been battling with depression, anxiety and addiction, and probably bipolar or ADHD.
I have also been diagnosed with severe anxiety.

We can learn to handle life's difficult situations better - I like that a lot. Thanks Dr. Kristina. Can I simply add for anybody reading comments that it is not how many times you fall that matters, it is how many times you get up again. This quote is attributed to many successful people like Abraham Lincoln, Ralph Waldo Emerson, George Custer, and even Japanese Proverb. Weird, huh?

Thank you for your videos. I saw my first video on codependence because my therapist suggested my step sister is codependent. I enjoyed your videos so much I keep watching more and more to learn about new topics.

The "your thoughts are not always true and you don't have to believe them about yourself" and the exercise is one of the keys to happiness, it truly is. Just got a gym membership recently and my shoulder would ache for the last couple of months, started lifting weights and the ache has started to disappear. Thanks for your great videos you have no idea how much they really help!!

What I have a problem with is the inner critic & failure. Now I know thoughts are just thinking & they are not me. Emotions are just experiencing & are related to my relationship with them. Failure can also be changed by my relationship with it. I am relearning at age 65 how to change so many things that change is becoming is my best friend. Thanks to Julia & my well developed Anterior Cingulate Cortex. Now let's all go out and increase our self-esteem by "self control" & brain development so we can be role models of strength & true beauty from within.

When I have bad days I always say “I’m not going to have bad days any more” but they keep happening and yesterday was a terrible full of bad emotions. Today I woke up more hopeful and I thought of you Julia and how maybe you might have a video that could help me and I came across this one ☝️ thank you. I went for a power walk to simply get my body moving and reflect. I thought of what you said about goals and the importance of the process and to keep my eyes on my own practice.
I desperately want to feel good about myself and where I am in my life. I will put all five into practice.

I really connected with the "don't compare your practice " one. I'm in film animation at school and like you in your yoga course, I'd always be taking a lil peek at the work of others ( who was better, who was worse) and it used to really mess me up mentally. I'd never feel good enough! But I've grown and had more experience...and i realised that when i just focus on my own art/pratice I have a lot more confidence (and fun) while creating my animations!
