Because they cannot cross the central (ringed) sea or the or shortcut through the Heaven Continent ( both are extremely dangerous at least for Rudeus and Eris) they have no choice but to go the long way mostly by foot or horse carriage.
when the chief said its been about 10 years since you saved that one he was referring to the fact that ruijerd saved a migurd child 10 years ago and thats why the migurd arent afraid of ruijerd anymore. rowin was also weary about letting them in the village, because all the warriors in the village went to go hunt for food and rowin was the only warrior left behind to protect the village at that time.

Worldbuilding information that isn’t clearly explained in the show but adds a lot of context: 1. The massive ocean in the middle of the continents is inhabited by races of intelligent creatures that have their own politics, nations, and laws. We never really get a huge amount of info about them, but we do know that different nations on land have treaties and agreements for passage through the ocean, but they’re very restrictive. For the most part, the only way for normal people to cross between continents are through public routes and ports between each continent to its closest neighbors, effectively creating a ring of routes. Meaning that in order to get home, they will have to wrap all the way around the ring one way or another. 2. The fastest route they could take, in theory, would be to go north to the Heaven Continent that you saw on the map. However, it’s terrain is basically impassable for normal people and it is inhabited by incredibly strong monsters, so although it’s a significantly shorter distance, it would take them almost as much time and be far more dangerous, which is why they settle on going the longer but safer path through the Millis Continent. At this point in the story, they estimate that the path they’re planning to take should get the back home in a few years, if everything goes according to plan. Something the book does really well that is almost entirely absent from the show is dealing with the logistics of travel, which is a little disappointing, but also completely understandable for how boring it would be to most people. 3. The Superd are born with three-pointed tails that harden and break off from their bodies when they reach maturity and become the spears that they wield for the rest of their lives. They’re literally a part of them, which is very important for understanding the story of Laplace’s black spears. Ruijerd was the leader of the Superd warriors and personally made the call for them to give up their natural born spears in exchange for the ones that drove them mad. He personally feels responsible for the Superd’s reputation because of that. Also, when he says that his current spear is his son’s soul, he means it literally. His son gave his life to break Ruijerd’s black spear and knock him out of the bloodlust, he then used his son’s spear to free the other Superd warriors that were left. It’s something the show only skims over, but it’s really important for understanding Ruijerd’s character. 4. Since you asked about it, Superd are even longer lived than Migurd. Ruijerd was a full adult during Laplace’s war which took place roughly 400 years ago.

Underrated comment. I’ve watched the whole show and read some of the web novel, but I never knew about the oceans being inhabited by creatures. Is that possibly where rudeus’ mother is being kept?

What I find kind of fascinating is that Musoku Tensi is kind of a "double isekai" - first Reudus coming to this world and then the two of them being transported to another continent.
There might be some slight cringy scenes in the future episodes but most of it are for comic relief and sometimes drop IMPORTANT DETAILS for the future of the story so pls don't skip if you think the scene looks weird at first lol
The encounter with Ruijerd made me cry. "He's nice" That's right, he's a proud warrior. Each of his words, "Make sure to deliver it to your hometown," is heavy.

It is ok to call them "superdo" since the Japanese adapt foreign words to their pronunciation. They tend to do so even in fantasy writings. Hence, you will notice that Rokishii (Roxy), a foreigner's name, is written in different characters than the other Japanese words. Fun fact hahaha. In other words, since they do not have the sound of the "d" alone in Japanese, they say "do". By the same token, instead of "xy", they say "kishii".
Now Rudy has a whole new perspective on Roxy-sensei. They are the same age (if you add Rudy's previous life's years). ;) I haven't read the WN/LN much, but I wonder if Rudy ever tells someone (other than a god) that he's been reincarnated with his past life's memories... Imagine telling that to Roxy and saying they are the same age... :P
The web novel is very tied up together.. it's very good story telling. The anime now.. only tells us the beginning.. there are many hidden powers behind those history and rideus will uncover the truth of mana disaster and the manipulation of all the gods..
Not sure if this counts as spoiler but the migurd race stops thier apparent age when the hit the teenage, then they stay the same looks for about 100 or 120 years, then they start aging again, so the tribe leader its in his 160 o 170 give or take, Roxy and Rudy actually have the same mental age btw
Back to back! The emotional roller-coaster shifts some from cringe and happy to scared and relieved/happy. Oh, there's still some cringe, but it's much better moving forward
Fun fact: Rujierd's VA is the same VA as Hisoka's. And if you watched Chobbits (classic anime) Chii's VA is the same as Ghislaine's. Man-god's VA is Orochimaru. I'm glad you googled the map. That'll really help you picture the distance and locations of characters.
Hypothetically, as a point of discussion, if Rudeus were gay and lusting after Paul, the butler, and under-age boys, would the level of viewership, defensive behaviour and ratings be the same?
If you do the math, that means Roxy is actually the same as Rudy. They are both the same age. Older minds in younger bodies. It is probably why Roxy and Rudy became so close.

I love the level of detail in this show. They even animated the way Eris walks as being distinctly different than the other two.

Superd’s are some of the longest living species in the worl. They can easily live over 500 years and some can make it into the 1000 range.
