    Listened to your whole video. I'm a "bristle" brush artist specializing in oil portraits and have done many landscapes in the past. I've been asked to do some art work on vehicles and other structures and I see how an airbrush will help achieve better and faster results. Really like your videos, they help a lot!

      most temporary tattoo people are using stencils.. (unless doing full body art) Bottle fed for quick stock colors in that case work better. If doing stencil stuff it really doesnt matter if doing regular body art then the iwata eclipse bottle feed airbrush would be my choice.

      Thanks! UA-cam is a hard path to start, especially those of us who started in 2019 with the newest rules and algorythms. However it is starting to grow this month at a much faster rate. As for the color theory, it amazes me that is not performing much better. I know for a fact most people just mix color hoping for the best. As did I not that long ago. I plan on changing the thumbnail on those and see if that captures a few more eyes

      @TheAIRspace  3 роки тому +1

      you can absolutely airbrush watercolors. they work beautifully in an airbrush.
      As for the neo. Its not a bad airbrush, but I have a little bit of a hard time giving it a hearty recomendation. It overall performs well. I just do not like to recomend any airbrush that the nozzle has to be unthreaded every time to a beginner airbrush artist. Its not that this is unique to the neo.. but there are options that do not require that. its just so easy to damage one when starting. for the same reason I never recomend grex and a wide assortment of airbrushes. but thats being a bit picky on my part.

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  5 років тому +1

      Beeswax. Clogging.. well thats a different question. Make sure its not the bottle holes getting clogged.. if air cant get into the bottle it will act like its clogging. Ive yet to see a badger that didnt benefit from sealing the threads on the head assembly. Beeswax is recomended. Chapstick works in a pinch.

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  5 років тому +1

      Hey Paul. There is a needle packing on that brush, which will need to be tightened. You can easily find the parts breakdown on that brush. No question the needle packing is not right if paint is getting to that location. And it can cause lots of trouble. If it is BRAND new and your first airbrush.. I would contact the seller. Adjusting the needle packing is one of the most sensitive user serviceable things you can do. It is VERY Rare for iwata to ship one out not right. But it can happen.
      They have a tool made just for this purpose, it can be done with a small flathead screwdriver (Like a jewers type) But I cant say the size off my head. Keep me posted ill see what i can do to get ya fixed up!

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  4 роки тому +1

      im sorry it took so long to reply... i didnt catch the comment on this pretty old video :/ The best use for a detail airbrush over an eclipse is not always about fine lines. its about soft and gentle blending at small size. Getting a sharp crisp line itself is not as hard on the eclipse, but when you start doing micro blends the detail brushes really shine. They atomize finer at that small gentle gradients

    Airbrush... something to bring up that you can kind of see in your video on the gsi models ps-270, 288 & 770 ( which is the .18 needle and I have and love) the air delivery is the same as the much higher priced iwata micron. There are 3 holes delivering air around the nozzle where alot only have 1. The gsi airbrushes are a jewel that I wish I would have found along time ago. I hope that helps everyone. Also great video.

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  5 років тому

      well the 770 and the micron heads are similiar. However the shorter distance to me atomizes better than the 270. Actually i swapped a micron head in it and it did make a difference. They are very good at the price point. I use the 270 a lot.

    All Airbrush’s use a “Venturi Effect” to get paint out of the chamber. In a Gravity airbrush, pull the needle back 1” and put paint in the cup, it will not run out, and that’s a open hole from the chamber!
    It needs air to pull a slight vacuum on the chamber, Venturi effect!

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  2 роки тому +1

      Yes all airbrushes use a venturi effect, however a gravity feed will need less pressure to pull the paint forward and atomize.
      As for paint not running without air, i can guarantee liquid can and will drip out without air. Actually its used a lot for a splatter effect pumping the trigger then hitting air to make little splatter. (on gravity feed brushes)
      Keep the air on! Peace!

      @@Jaimerga they are excellent, as is the gsi creos ps 770/771. However, they Excell at small detail and shading. For myself I work on a lot of canvases from 11x14 to 18x24. And it would be very hard for a micron to fill that up in a reasonable amount of time.
      Then there is how thick of a paint you can spray through a micron, versus an eclipse, which lets me work straight out of the bottle or barely reduced which of course leads to quicker coverage.

      I have an olympos micron that I have owned for 4 years now. I have never removed the nozzle. And just recently have stopped using it due to finally flaring the nozzle enough the performance has degraded . I keep meaning to order a replacement for it. You will notice a trend with me. I never recomend airbrushes that need the nozzles unscrewed. Because IF I managed to break one (when my job used to entail repairing small machines parts) I can only imagine how easy it is for a novice to break one. And I have seen more than my share of posts about broken nozzles.

    Color theory is similar to tv cookery programmes, people watch it but don't do it.

    So if you watch half of the video will you learn the whole lesson?

      in hindsight going back 2.5 years. i suppose telling people the information on buying was over was not the best decision.. There was very good and valid information in the last 3 minutes however ;)

    Newton's mass attracting masa gravity and einstein's bendy warpy space time which superceded newton's are both nonsense and a joke. Just so everyone is clear. Appreciate the video buddy 👍

      @@Michael-Humphrey well that would depend on what you plan on painting and how big.
      if you go to kit.co/wleonartistry I list some paints and a few benefits of each.
      Textiles big nozzle and standard createx airbrush colors are the most readily available
      Wicked is a good choice for small murals and bigger canvases models and even some automotive art.
      Createx illustration golden high flow are great choices for small to medium paintings. Createx illustration can also be used on all surfaces except textiles.
      Whatever you do get an airbrush paint and not try and use cheap craft paints to airbrush with.
      As for airbrushes. My recomendations are pretty much what I gave in the video.
