Personally, i want to see your sources in your vids. Excluding used videography, the clips are the citation. Nothing against you, obviously, i just wanna read up in more detail of what you go over cause am a sad sad git and would just sit there and read the actual documentation. I didnt know the original first models of the T-10 had no NBC protection , 8000 produced seems extremely wild knowing that the soviets were already leaning into the T-54/55s and furthering their MBTs. I never tried the T-10M in USSR, i always thought the BR 8.3 seemed a little to harsh for a heavy tank. I remember researching it and never putting a crew into it, was always a T-55A and T-62 main before i brought the Turms to ease the grind. I know this isnt a reliable source but didnt the Chinese tried copying the T-10 with something called the WZ-111 or something ? i remember seeing it in world of tanks but i never took it seriously because wot felt like they made up their own irl lore.
@@cherrypoptart2001 WZ-111 yeah I just looked it up. Looks like a Chinese copy but it didn‘t enter production like the other ones. It was just a prototype. And what exactly do you mean by 8.3 being too harsh for a heavy tank? I had quite fun playing the T-10 together with the T-55A, and Object 906 because they‘re all stabilized.
@@bobiwtThe heavy tanks in that BR do feel like gambling, depending on if it‘s an uptier or downtuer they excel or are at a severe disadvantage. Still love the T-10 though, beside the IS-7 and T29 they seem like the logical conclusion to the heavy tanks.
Exactly! The T-10 and M-103 are both troublesome concepts for tanks. The question should not be comparing these two tanks, but instead question why heavy tanks are bad in general! They both have similar advantages and disadvantages so it doesn’t really matter anyway. This is far more accurate than 90% of UA-cam!! 👍
I feel like the T-10 is a step backwards from the IS-7, that's my opinion If they kept the same design as the IS-7, have 122 semi auto loader and reduced the ridiculous amount MGs on it, it would be far better tank imo
Correction at 5:14: the 90mm HEAT from the US M47 & M48 tanks could penetrate the frontal hall andtire armor of the T10. Additionally, the British 20-pounder APDS of the Centurion could as well.
Correct, they only ever had one for testing and they were willing to purchase it however sanctions from Britain made it impossible. They used technology from it to develope the merkava tho
To nr.3 ) Israel did never fielded Chieftains. I remember specifically reading that Shermans (not specified if it was the upgraded SuperSherman) and M48 with 90mm guns did struggle against IS-3s in the 1956 (at which point I dont think Israel even had Centurions).
11:33 I think they talk about the WZ-111, the only heavy tank built by China. It was never completed and only the hull survived, it isn't a T-10 but is was inspired a lot by it. Both the hull and the gun underperformed during trials and the development stopped in 1964.
Alot of these are just points about the IS-7 (heavy, expensive, complicated), just incorrectly attributed to the T-10. Also the chinese did have their own T-10 equivalent program, the WZ-111 series, a couple hulls still exist one with a casemate looking box which likely acted as dummy weight for the trials
I have seen (And admittedly joined in a few times) a friend of mine use the T-10 and T-62 as examples as the 'last time the Soviets made propper tanks' and that everything afterwards were awful autoloader ideas (Among other, rage baiting claims) Also what, Israeli Chieftains? Those never went to service because the British proceeded to prevent the sale to Israel and sold them to the arabs instead in, a move I honestly have zero information on, I need to ask the Shiryon Archive.
Myth #11 The T-10 was horribly sluggish. The T-10m could reach 50km/h on road, almost as much as the m60 and T-55, about as much as the centurion and far superior to the chieftain so called mbt. It also had decent reverse speed and reverse acceleration for a soviet tank. Its main issue was high fuel consumption and much higher wear and tear due to having a higher weight and being more fromt heavy.
I rememder reading that the combination of heavy weight and slow speed made it less suitable for offensive operations then the t-55 and t-62 and that this was the reason they were relegated to second line units before being abondoned altogether.

Khrushchev says BILLIONS must use ATGMs
GLATGMs are so based only communists could figure them out (initially)
To be fair an M1A1SA Abrams was destroyed in Ukraine by a T-72B3 with a gun launched ATGM

Great video, but just needs a small correction. Israel didn´t have Chieftains, they had Centurions which where locally modified and named Sho't Kal.

Hey Bobi, say Squirrel Thunder.
the t14 either has no armor or is like 70 tons, no heckin way you can make a tank have more armor than an m1 with DU but be 30 tons lighter

FYI, In the Myth #3 segment, you mentioned Israeli Chieftans? Israel never used the Chietan, they used the Centurion.
@@michaeldenesyk3195 Yeah you‘re right. Some other people pointed this out too and I made a mistake.
T10 is like a british Matilda in cold war but with way better gun ( i mean even for that time Matilda's gun was nothing)
Bruh, and faster too, Matilda was walking speed, T-10 wasn't THAT bad at least when it came to speed
