Soviet Response to Germany’s Big Cats - The IS-2 Heavy Tank
The IS-1 tank emerged from the Soviet need to upgrade the struggling KV-1 tank, eventually leading to the development of the IS-2 with a powerful 122 mm gun to counter German Tigers and Panthers. Initially, the IS-1 was equipped with an 85 mm gun, but it was quickly replaced by the IS-2 for its superior firepower and armor. The IS-2 proved effective in combat, able to destroy German tanks at longer ranges and withstand enemy fire better. Despite its slower rate of fire, it played a crucial role in key battles which turned the tide of World War 2, including the Battle of Berlin.
An interesting tank with an interesting history, which is worth looking into. And that’s what we’re gonna do today. Hello and welcome to the Bobi and Tanks UA-cam channel and enjoy this video.

Alright, buckle up and grab some popcorn because today we’re gonna talk about a tank which didn’t make Stalin proud. The Soviet IS-1 heavy tank. The IS-1 tank project was born out of the Soviet need to upgrade their KV-1 tanks, which struggled more than a cat in a bathtub against the German Panthers and Tigers. After some hectic engineering and a lot of swearing, the IS-1 emerged with a fancy n...
The Armored Grandpa Couldn't Keep Up with the Blitzkrieg - M2 Medium Tank

Hallo and welcome, The M2 medium tank, produced by Rock Island Arsenal in 1939, was an American attempt at creating a modern armored vehicle before World War II. Despite its innovative features, including a 37 mm gun, multiple machine guns, and sloped armor, it was quickly deemed obsolete compared to contemporary European tanks. Consequently, the M2 was primarily used for training rather than c...

Tank vs tank combat is not as important as some people think, so saying the IS-1 wasn't a match for Tigers or Panthers is not such a damning criticism. I don't think anything in this video or a video about the IS-2 will have any bearing on my life choices.

Otherwise I appreciate the attempts at staying unbiased and you've defo earned my sub and a like. The fuck are you talking about? It's in the east and south you will find most Russian speakers, and this is mostly due to russian resettlement and colonization following Catherine the Great's subjugation of the Crimean Khanate and during the later industrialization of the Donbass. There is also literally TONS of russian slanted media out there, literally at your fingertips. History Legends, Patrick Lancaster, Gonzalo Lira (rip bozo), Col MacGregor, just to name a few.
