    +10 for checking balance. Never thought about using a random orbital sander for sharpening.

      I'm thinking about using an oscillating tool with sander

    Have to say the EGO mower is the best mower I’ve ever owned. Thanks for the balancing tip.

    Yes the EGO is a wonderful mower,easy storage no gas oil to mess or smell,quiet & starts at touch of button.
    Has the power of gas, only about 45 min to charge (which gives you time to rest).
    Had mine for about 3 years

    Greetings from Australia! Thankyou so much, this is exactly what I was looking for...the blades on my ego are sooo blunt! UA-cam is a girl's best friend!😊

    Been meaning to get it sharpened by dropping it off at a local mower store, but hell, you saved me a trip and time. Thank you!

    My EGO does not have a hole for the screwdriver to brace the blade.

    Take a paint scraper to the bottom of ya mower ,.. these ego mowers have a fan above the blade that keeps everything above it cool , ya don’t want that covered in caked on grass ( don’t use a hose ( paint scraper and damp towel works best )

    Mine was wedged on. Had to cut off the top of the bolt. M10-1.50 x 25mm with 17mm socket is a $1 replacement at Tractor Supply vs TEN DOLLARS on Amazon for ONE bolt.

      Amazon can be cheap for hardware if you buy in bulk but they are crazy expensive for buying single bolts. It’s always good to have a local hardware store (like Tractor Supply, Ace, etc…) for stuff like that.

    Hahaha how much material can you really remove with a sander on metal?!

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  2 роки тому

      Depends on the grit. Lower grits will remove metal faster. My Worksharp sharpener uses 80, 120, 600 and 3000 grit sandpaper. A mower blade obviously doesn’t need the higher grits.

    Thanks, but I think I’ll just buy a new blade…

      If you don't want to do the sharpening, you can often get them sharpened at the hardware store.
