- Following emails I received on my last video on my most used & favourite MTL RTA’s, that many asked why I did not discuss throat hit in more detail. So, in today’s video I will discuss in detail the following. What is Throat Hit - What factors contributes for stronger Throat Hit - Which of my MTL RTA’s deliver stronger Throat Hit, vaping the same NET & the same ratio of VG/PG & nicotine level.
I’m vaping for 3-4 years now but I consider you as my tobacco guide and mentor! No doubt!

Throat hit is probably the most important thing to me when it comes to vaping, I smoked menthol cigarettes for 10 years before I made the switch to vaping so I’m used to a throat hit,I tried rdas,drippers,Genesis tanks and never felt satisfied with sub ohms and clouds, I’m mtl all the way and in my case if I’m not getting a moderate throat hit then I’m having a bad experience and feeling unsatisfied . It falls down to preference,A lot of trial and error from what type of tank is being used,airflow pins/control ring,chimney,the coil build,the wicking,the juice ratio. So many factors to dial in but as vapers we all tend to find our sweet spot, great video my friend 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Hi Nathan! First of al I want to thank you very much for your encouraging words. I’m better now and guess what: I have started to view all your reviews which I have missed. I have not started in a raw but I looked at this one following your recommendation. And it was lovely. So complete you cut in small tiny slices this “through hit” and is nothing to say more about. One personal experience I want to speak about. I was a hardcore smoker 2-3 packs Camel yellow per day and that was why I felt the need of a strong TH. I vape only 50/50 VG/PG with 18/15/12 and now 10mg Nicotine. What I have noticed is that a strong TH let you reduce the nicotine percentage. The TH somehow “ satisfies “ me a lot and I could take rare puffs. Otherwise, which is the case now with PODS (renowned for their weak TH) I take significant more puffs that with a Spica for example. So ,good bye until the next review!

For me i love strong throat hit and this is what found from my little experience in rebuildable atomizer. The bigger the chamber the stronger the hit. If you realize all the atomizer you shown in the video has a big chamber. i can say this because i have dvarw 16 and gus melampous which has a very small and condensed chamber, though they deliver good flavor but throat hit is weak and i try to do comparison with my byka se which has a bigger chamber and i put the same build, same liquid, same wattage and i found byka se gives much more stronger throat hit compares to the smaller chamber of dvarw 16 and gus melampous. I am not sure others will agree or not but this is just from my experience. Anyway thanks for the video is definitely helpful because this topic has not been discussed a lot in details.

I find TFA RY4 Double creates a nice throat hit as a flavour at just 5% and 6mg/ml nic.

Another piece of great video, congrats! You spoke about everything except the coil. In previous video you said expectation from mode is to deliver 16W, so I suppose you are using 0,7-0,8 ohm coil, right? Second you said you aren't curious to test other atomisers but I was looking for models you presented and majority of them aren't anymore available...Once again thank you for your work and info shared. I switched recently to free base nicotine (didn't know about it) on refillable and I was using disposables Nic salt with high nicotine, first time I hit my juice I got throat destroyed lmao but u get used to it, I have to anyways I bought 120ml of it haha :(

Thanks 🙏 4am wow 😊. Freebase nicotine would keep your nicotine intake in check as you feel it every time you inhale. Salt Nic is a sure way to overdo it as it is too smooth.

Hello Nathan!good video and very informative.now if you do not mind i want to say something regarding the throat hit.after 10 years of vaping and the in the last 4-5 years of vaping net i had noticed that besides the rtas construction and the lenght of the chimney another factor that increases the throat hit is the material of the coil.So for me the best throat hit for a 6 mg net liquid its deliverd by a simple spaced kanthal wire(27 awg i found that works better than 26 awg for me).and after khanthal in my opinion is the ni80 and last is ss.in my early days i was a th seeker but now ive discovered that some liquids are tsting better with a milder throat hit.complex wires like claptons or mtl fused claptons are making the vapour to hot for me and the throat hit i recieve its much more milder that i am used to.regarding the cellulose wicking it has nothing to do with the throat hit but in stead in some cases it delivers the flavour of your liquid better than the cotton.and also may last long and the taste is somehow clearer from your first vape after rewicking.regarding the millenium(i have one and its one of the best tanks i have ever used)its quite tricky to wick ,but the advantage is that you basically have 3 tanks in one .ok i think that this comment is waaay to long and im sorry for that.best wishes and waiting for the next video

You should try the Kayfun lite 5 pawn edition (throat hit is really strong, maybe strongest I have tried) I'm still hoping that you will review the 5 pawn someday.
I have 3 Kayfuns. Light, Prime & X that is enough for me for now😊 besides I don’t like to strong of a throat hit

I really like the Siren V4 and i see you mentioned it in this video..... my question is.... do you ever have an issue with the liquid constantly coming up the chamber and driptip, into your mouth??
No matter what way i wick/build it, i simply can't stop it from happening 🤦♂️

@jayog88. The Siren needs a lot of cotton to hold any excess liquid that is fed by gravity so i use 3mm ID coil and i make sure the cotton fills the entire juice well cavity with a bit of a mound on the top. To achieve that you need cut the cotton the right length by resting your scissors on 0 ring that surrounds the rim then fluff the cotton ends and lift then tuck gently so you get like a rounded mound of cotton. That should solve any up lift of liquid.

I find up to 9mg nic relatively mild as far as throat hit is concerned,when I use 12mg with nets in my kayfuns I get a solid throat hit,I use both each day,probably 60% 9mg and other 40% 12mg depending on mood and stress level🙂

Hi Boris. Unfortunately I have lost the excellent Ion V2 last year somewhere in Spain I was gutted as it was a gift from my staff and I loved everything about it. They offered to replace it but I felt it is not right for them to spend that money again. That is life & I moved on. You are the first to mention it since😊

I don't have the Millennium but i do have the Arcana 22 which as i understand is very similar. As for TH the Spica Pro is the strongest then the Arcana & Fev VS dual is the lesser TH. Dry vape again the Spica. For flavour only, the Fev is the winner on blond tobacco. Latakia is best on the Spica

It seems like the chemicals that cause a harsh throat hit would also indicate a harsh (unfelt) lung hit-like frying your lungs. Although you can feel like a warmth in your lungs. I never had that as strong with cigarettes as I do with vaping. In other words, I feel like I’m frying my lungs worse with vaping. Vaping my not lead to cancer like cigarettes, but I wonder if it’s damaging the lungs in other ways as bad or worse than smoking. Are my concerns unfounded scientifically?
The harshness in vaping is because your throat is not accustom to vapour passing through your throat, very quickly you get used to it and the harshness soon reduces unless you vape high nicotine or high ratio of PG can cause harshness. The vapour itself is not hot, if you blow it out on your hand it is normal breath warmth so no frying your lungs danger😊 especially on MTL on low wattage

Nice topic old brother, yeah well throat hitters to me are the people that say not the amount of vapour in an MTL hit, nor the level of nicotine is about the throat hit and the PG ration of the juice by itself. When you use the same build and same juice with all the RTA's you get in years, you start to understand, there is a huge difference from atomizer to atomizer. It seems to me it is all about the design, machining, condensation of vapour and such. And I know I am not the only one. :)
Thus NO, vaping 18mg instead of 9 etc. won't do that trick. Your body gets used to higher nicotine all the time. So many like me prefer high throat hitter MTL devices, using them with less nicotine, still getting good hit sensation.
I am one of those pro throat hit vapers. I have been like this for years. RTA's like Flash, Spica Pro, Erlkönigin, Nduro, Kayfun V4 and such do that trick. Nowadays I do AIO instead of RTA setups, Rubik, 415, Exocet V2 also do that trick in RBA section.

I replied to your comment but for some odd reason it does not show. So for the last time😊 for strongest TH is the spica pro. Best flavour for blond tobacco like Virginia is the Fev VS. For best flavour on smoky blends like Latakia is the spica pro. I don’t have the millennium but if the Arcana 22 is the same it is placed bang in the middle for TH & flavour

@@davidkuinov None of my NET’s are Nic salts I only vape freebase nicotine based liquids. As my preference nicotine level is 9mg on 70VG / 30PG ratio my vape in not harsh at all with the perfect throat hit level on most of my MTL RTA’s.

No, the Nicotine does not carry through the extraction. You need to add your own nicotine either by 72mg nicotine according to chart pending on desired level and ml's of liquid or by 18mg 10ml nicshots.
@@netvaper thank you for your swift and kind reply. I have litres of tobacco that has been steeping in pg for many years and I've only just returned to MTL vaping and I don't want to waste it. I've been making my own juice for over 10 years so I have an ample supply of nicotine too. At the moment I'm using the Taifun GT4 S and I'm trying to decide between the 415 and the Penodat. I have a Kayfun but I can't seem to be able to get a satisfying vape out of it and I have tried everything from different coils to different flavours.

As for your choice of MTL May I suggest the 4.51 that I reviewed not so long ago. It is a better choice to the 415 or the pendant. The 4.51 is available on naturevape website and for the price it is a bargain as well.

@@netvaper are you on Instagram by any chance? I've just made a batch of genuine Syrian Latakia with a Vanilla Virginia by Gawith and Hoggarth. I don't know how it will vape yet because I've only just filtered and blended it, but I would love to send you a bottle or two for you to try. I'm not looking for a review, but a genuine reply on your thoughts would be appreciated. I am going to to be working on some Turkish leaf tomorrow and maybe a Plum blend also. It takes absolutely ages to filter to a degree I'm happy with. I also have some gorgeous Perique by Gawith and Hoggarth and some other bits and pieces. The leaf was originally steeped in a 70/30 VG/PG, and the dilution is an Aqueous VG. I don't use a lot of PG because my body doesn't like it.

I'm old school RTA man to ,,, less and less real MTL RTA are being made by big companies only by small ones so they are in high end category bcz of prices which comes when they produce niche products
I agree all new stuff that are accessible price wise nowadays are disposables & pod kits. Hardly any new mid budget MTL RTAs
