From my understanding, it's caused by the cost of dog training. In my country tons of people struggle with training and guiding them cause they just don't have access to these services. However, the landrace Africanis dog may have a small role to play

These are the basic rules I have with my own dog but sometimes people forget that before you want your dog to behave well you have to give it proper exercise so that that dog can handle his energy especially if it is a high energy dog.

A few months ago, I saw your channel for the first time and I was critical of it. I interacted with a couple of people in the comments.
I felt that the physical correction for bad behavior was unnecessary and I said so in my comment. I had conversations with those who agreed with me and several more conversations with your very loyal fans who didn't.
I foster dogs that have been abused. I can't always save them and I don't have to tell anyone how heartbreaking that is.
I proceeded to watch about 12 hours of your content. I take back any negative things I said about your training. I was wrong about saying that there's absolutely no place for a physical correction for dogs. I've let my loathsome interactions with people who have literally tortured dogs to taint my judgement.

And dogs LOVE to learn and do this stuff. Dogs are most confortable and happy when they have a consistent pack structure, and with pet dogs in human society, the human needs to lead. It’s not cruel; it’s practical.
Another key aspect of this is that when you’re doing the training and they stuff they’re trained to do, you are with your dog, which is something else they absolutely love. I even think it’s a lousy trick to wear your headphones when you’re walking your dog, but I’m not gonna change many minds.

My dog is 1 year and 8 months and I adopted her at 1 years old almost exactly. Thanks to your videos she has learned 2 of these three things. Walking her with a leash or without with distractions still has a lot of work to do but it is 75% there I feel. As a first time dog owner I’ve noticed how many people have gone out of their way to tell me that I am training her right, I accredit that 90% to you. Thank you, I am trying to teach her “sick em” and “leave it” next because I trust she is a good and smart dog at this point. Sorry to whoever thinks I am wrong for trying to train that last part, but a dog in my opinion is suppose to be my best friend til life or death. And as I would fight for her life, I want to teach her to do the same.

Always hard to balance loving your animals and training them. Some breeds are perfect for just loving and doing very little training...the issue i see the most is people buying breeds (such as your absolutely beautiful cane corso) and NOT training them at all, which one day possibly lead to a deadly accident.

But the only thing he couldn't do: control himself when we left through a door and when we arrived he also had to be the first one to enter. Whatever, he was the best! We had a great relationship! We went on travels, hitchhiking, he was great around kids. People told me always how well behaved he was. Well if that door thing was his only weakness I let him have that. He was a geeat companion!

Our 13 weeks old Labrador has mostly mastered the impulse control at feeding time. Getting her to learn it isn't complicated, just needs patience. I place the bowl really slow on the floor, if she jumps up I lift it again, doing this as many times as needed till she waits for my 'okay' before eating. Also waiting at the door till I let her in, works quite fine. (Out is not really a thing right now as I need to take her down the stairs as she's not allowed to walk down on her own right now) The walk thing is the next one.
Love your channel, it is really helpful.

This should be a standard for all households with dogs, especially impulsive manner, they just becomes so much more relaxed.
Also perfect heal isnt always necessary (depending on your lifestyle and where you live) & if you are on a walk your dog is obviously allowed to sniff but just put it into a "free" cue and your dog will have their needs met and at the same time you wont have a dog pulling you down the road because they are following a scent and dont give a frikk about you xDD

I have a trainer for my GSD. he is very very reactive and I don't leave him at home. I don't know how to socialize him or if he ever will be able to be around other dogs. he was attacked as a puppy. Love your videos. ty for sharing

Rarely have my 2-year 97 lb. GS on a leash that I'm holding. He wears a non-tightening prong and a short leash he can run around with. He stays with me. He watches me.
We play endless games and travel together everywhere. He climbs long steep heavy wooden stairs with military precision. He loves to swim. He loves to "go find it".
I don't need him to walk perfectly at my side everywhere. I never wanted a robot dog. I wanted a companion dog.
He responds to my voice, body & silent commands.

With my 11 yr old huskymix girls i did them impulse control mostly because i was not just out of elementary and not in middle yet, but they dont snap or growl when i need to interact with there food at all. A husky boy that hopped over our fence and resided with us for a bit i managed to teach impuse control to when when i threw food or treats. He was chaotic be the goodest of boys at time

A great way I train puppies to pay attention to me on walks in on purpose bump into posts/hydrants...w.e. so the leash is caught and they have to look at me and follow me to not get tangled, it's extremely cute watching them figure it out lol you can see how excited they are when they figure it out and look up at you 😂
