Binging on this wonderful lady. I feel guilty for forgetting how awesome she was. While many miss her I think she left at a good time considering the way the world has changed since.
Oh my gosh! Her improvisation at the beginning about the wire is SO Madeline Kahn - ALWAYS bringing something unique and unscripted to everything she does! Thank you for posting these rare videos. I used to think I was the only Madeline Kahn fan and it's so nice to see there are many, many, many more people out there who still love her!
Lili Von Shtupp! One of her great roles. I think I first saw Madeline Kahn in "What's Up, Doc?" as Eunice Burns. Her performance was so convincing I would never have guessed what a class act she was. Her combination of modesty, intelligence and incredible focus will always stand apart from far lesser performers who are better known by the public.
You reminded me about What's up doc . And she was in Paper moon. So she was very good at playing cold hearted bitches but those characters never damaged her lovability.
In today's hyper vigilant "I must be offended and if you're not I'll help you with that" world, her movies would never be allowed to be made. Thank God that wasn't happening back then. What a gem she was!
I grew up in Bellmore and lived in Sunnyside 15 years. I remember my family eating at the German restaurant on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore. On Sunday afternoons they would have a floor show. I don't remember seeing Madeline Kahn perform, but she was an awesome talent.
When I was younger some friends of mine one night decided we would make our perfect woman, taking different things from different women, kinda a weird science thing. I used Madeline's mouth and personality.

I was always so impressed with her talent. My friends and I still crack up over her performance in “Blazing Saddles”😂
"Oh my god woof " She did that so well. I doubt if anyone else could have made that work. Special very missed talent .

@@rayoflight9709 When we saw the full range of Madeline Kahn's skills (actress and singer) we could only admire and love her.
