      New tattooer here, i started with a pair of Micky Sharpz machines as well. Recently decided to try out my shopmate’s Bishop Fantom machine and got one myself -they’re killer! Definitely a strange feeling to get used to, but wild how convenient they are. At the end of the day though, pulling lines with a well-running coil machine feels great 👍

I’d like to know how to tune it for the 3 things the machine will do. The lining I think I have that sorted but the other 2 I’d like some advice on. thanks Helen x

    Your machine sounds good at 5 - 5.5. When I slowly crank mine up, it hits almost 7 volts before it sounds right. Is it safe to say all machines will run different voltages?

    • @lorenzomartinez4185
      @lorenzomartinez4185 2 роки тому +1

      You'll be fine with 7 volts. He'll most likely increase the voltage to 6 or 6.5 once he has a full hand grip on the disposable tube. There are several factors including the harmony of back spring tension to front spring (with armature bar weight) and the limitless ways they can be configured, cut, punched to achieve your Cycles per second, duty cycle, and voltage use. Some machines have coil cores made of steel, some of iron. Some have yokes, while others are yokeless. All rubber bands aren't made the same. and these are just a fraction of the variables that allow coil machines to run on different voltages. Normally they can run as low as 4, to as high as 9. Depends on what's in your hand

    • @calebotto3128
      @calebotto3128 Рік тому

      Yes as long as it's sounding right. After that a lot of what voltage you are using has to do with your hand speed. I recommend making yourself a dot pen. It's helped me immensely with adapting my hand speed to various voltages

    hi . This video is a bit hollow, the calibration goes beyond adjusting the travel of the hammer, the tension of both the front and rear straps should be checked, the tension of the o-ring, is the o-ring necessary or not, the travel and the blow of the machine. I have used wormhole brand machines and I can say that they are excellent machines, you have to know how to calibrate them because when you buy they do not arrive calibrated

    I got KingPin Ferrum liner and shader built by Ernie D.
    I also got some cheap coil machines to teach myself how to build. I tore them down and added better coils, springs and parts some worked out some didn't but got tons of experience do it.
    I'm glad you came out with this video and comming out with other videos on traditional machines. When I tuned my machine the numbers tend to jump around a bit settle for a bit then jump around. My power supply is a Bronc.
    I got the stroke right 4.0 for a liner 3.5 for a shader when I used my guage to set the stroke. Is it normal for the duty cycle and speed to jump around a bit?

      ofcourse :) depends on machine, a flite nano machine somebody lines 12-13v's, bishop wands 6-10v's, cheyenne for lineing 10-15 hz, and so on. It depends on the motor, how it's build, even for coils, i have a coil that run low like his on 5-6 volts, but i also have a coil machine that wont turn on at even 6v, that is made to run 7-8, even 10 volts for big liners. Nothing really is that simple in tattooing, hope my answer helps you out.

    • @simonkristiansen960
      @simonkristiansen960 2 роки тому +1

      @@Moorehenry66 you can't really look at it that way, for shadeing with a coil machine, it's 95% more about how the armatur bar is, and the springs, you can't look at cps in that sense, because it really depends on handspeed and nothing else, but yeah if it's runnning 120+ cps for lineing LOADED i would say maybe too mutch, but everything really depends... Everything matters, even the grommet makes alot of difference, hard grommet, soft grommet, etc.. More rubber bands, less, how you bend the needle, and so on. It's quite detailed. But point being if you buy a coil machine from a good manufactor, like workhorse irons, a liner, you dont have to think that mutch about it, it will run perfect. Untill after a while when you have to do small steps, same with buying a shader coil machine, or a packer coil machine, another great brand is vlad blad for coil machines.
