  • Mike Gravel passed away on June 26th, 2021 at the age of 91. Mike, who founded the Gravel Institute, had been a U.S. senator, a two-time presidential candidate, and the author of several books. He was a lifelong advocate for direct democracy and a fierce critic of American imperialism. We took a break from releasing videos and made this to remember a few of his best moments. Rest in peace, Mike.

Such a great and important man, a towering figure, who dwarfed the corrupt political establishment so completely, that he was above the frame of the Corporatist Media's political coverage, looking down at it. I suspect that he's doing that, even now.

Congratulations for escaping what appears to be more cult-like day by day. Really, changing your mind on something like politics is tough to do. @@kittycatwithinternetaccess2356 Reagan was a Union busting criminal who sold out the working class to corporations. His presidency is responsible for the neo-liberal capitalist hellhole we've been living in the past 40 years where the gap between rich and poor keeps widening. Wages haven't been keeping up with expenses. Childcare, housing, education, healthcare etc. They’re all getting more expensive by the year. Younger people are still getting crushed by student loan debts so large that they can’t move out of the house or start families. He closed hundreds of mental hospitals leaving the patients on street with 50 bucks. All those old crazy hobos are from him. Reagan escalated the "War on Drugs", a policy that was designed specifically to be racist. He Did nothing to solve the crack epidemic that he helped create, destroyed South American countries, bombed libya, invaded Grenada, gave weapons to terrorists, killed small businesses with reaganomics, tripled the national debt. Not to mention the fact that the Reagan administration also did nothing to stop AIDS epidemic from getting worse or even educate the public on the disease. This was because the Reagan Administration was very anti-LGBT, and they believed that AIDS was "killing all the right people" since lgbt were hit the hardest by the disease. This was a big part of why there was a massive surge in homophobia in the 1980s. Absolute failure of leadership and a traitor. Black people always knew it, but the man was super racist. He called black people welfare queens. There's a phone call of him referring to black diplomats as monkeys that are barely used to wearing shoes.
