  • Hello Everyone, welcome back to my food Channel:
today I am preparing one of the most liked soup by africans peanut soup( Nkatenkwan). You would have noticed by now that there are soo many recipes on You Tube, This is my recipe and its nice.
If you like it please subscripe and thumbs up! thanks
    Ingredients:
    2 big onions
1can of plum or chopped tomatoes
1 tablespoon of double concentrated tomato
5 tablespoon of smooth peanut butter
    some ginger
Meat: any type of meat you like: I used beef, tripes and salted beef straight from Ghana ( reason I did not add more salt in the soup)
scotch bonnet pepper: I used 3, but it depends on you
1 and half stock cube, you can use Maggi cube too
    salt

I am so blessed to find you. I lived with my Ghanian aunt all my life. She was very wicked and didn't want to teach me how to cook. When she met my boyfriend she asked him when he want soup who makes it for him? He felt sorry for me and said this your aunt don't wish you well. I was a young girl and didn't understand the importance of a African girl learning how to cook. My own mother also told her boyfriend who advised her to teach me how to cook that she learned how to cook on her own so I should do the same. My story is very sad and long but God allways makes ways for me. I thank God for sisters like you who share your knowledge with those less fortunate. My aunt and my mother wanted to disgrace and spoil me but the almighty father use people like you to help me and bless me. The song you played in the background is my life story. Thank you and God bless you. I have subscribed to your channel.

Thank you so much...you are indeed a great teacher, you made it so easy for non ghanaians to understand.... I'm a nigerian married to a ghanaian and we are based in New York so I need to learn how to prepare my hubby's country food you know what I mean...I prepared this soup using your method even though mine was a little thicker and my hubby was so impressed he had no idea I was going to prepare the soup, it came to him as a surprise when he got back from work and I served him his dinner....I'm so happy and can't wait to learn more ghanaian foods...thanks dear

Thank you for this - my aunt used to make this for me all the time. It’s my favourite dish, she promised she would teach me but passed away before she could. This give me the happy memories of sitting on her counter as she cooked food for me and talking about her life in Ghana and how she was going to take me there one day. I honestly can’t thank you enough for sharing how to cook this dish.

Please help. Alot of us dont know how to eat these wonderful dishes. I think fufu is eaten with the hands? Not a spoon or fork? It would be helpful if we got to see someone there eat the food after it's cooked. Then I'll know how to serve/eat it with my friends and family. Thank you so much for all you do.

I'm a little start struck I can't believe u responded .. I have tried jollof rice, peanut soup, waykee fish stew, and also I kno use ur tip for frying fish.
As for the seafood I have some shrimp and whole crab could I use them in a light soup ?or would it be better made into a stew? Oh I was also wondering if you know of a Ghanaian soup it's like a green soup possibly made from okra and you mix it with a red stew and eat it with fufu.. I can't remember the name but once I do I'll let you kno..
    God bless

    • @Drewrykitchen
      @Drewrykitchen  8 років тому

If you have a whole crab, use it to prepare banku and okro soup, I have to different videos for okro soup, I think its the one you are talking about. you can also add shrimp in it. Or Use thr crab and shrimp in a fish soup, I will prepare it and post it in the coming weeks. Its just that Im a bit occupied with other responsibilities these days lol.
You can also add me on Instagram if you like (its_drewry) just inform me before. Cheers Chanel

Why do you add the peanut butter at the end? Also have you ever thought about adding some coconut milk at the end in addition to the peanut butter? That might taste pretty good! :D.
