My S/O is Ghanaian and I'm so glad your cooking channel exists. The way you season your dish is the way I'd typically cook as West Indian native we're always having debates about what species go into the dish. No more salt and pepper only !
Thank you for this! I haven’t made it since last winter. I love the introduction of some caramelized veggies! I’m sure they at a huge flavor boost. I also like your technique for blending it into the large pot, right on the spoon! No more worrying if it’s all blended throughout. Can’t wait to make this.
That looks amazing Nana. You are making me hungry this morning with that recipe 😋 I love all the details you put in your videos. I hope you had a great thanksgiving and that you get everything in your wish list. Happy holidays 🤎
This soup will taste very good. I will definitely try it this Christmas with my family. I learnt something new today (the latter part of adding the grinded 3mix). I bet that did the magic! Thanks a bunch for sharing this recipe 🙏🏾👌🏾💕💕
Hi there beautiful queen I’m new to your page and I’m excited about watching you now cook African food I’ve always wanted to try it it looks so yummy i wanna try your Pom oil soup with okra but I don’t know what dry smoked fish 🐟 is and where do i get it from so I’m from mobile Alabama and where can I purchase the hard chicken 🐔 i only know the grocery store bought chicken 🐓 so please let me know where I can get everything i need to cook your food Pom oil soup ❤💓🧡💙😃😄😀😀
Hello! You can find “hard chicken “ from Walmart. It’s a whole chicken packaged in a white and yellow plastic wrap, and labeled “hen”. I googled African grocery store in Mobile Alabama and found one at this address 👉🏽3450 Springhill Ave. in Mobile, Alabama. It looks very well stocked., and you should be able to find dry, smoked fish in an assortment of carriers. Hope that helps.
@@NanaabasKitchen hello beautiful queen thank you so much for the address in mobile Alabama I’m gonna get ready to go to the grocery store and check it out thank you so much and I went to Walmart and all i could find is two little tiny garnish hens by Tyson chicken I hope this works will this work for my peanut butter soup I bought them thank you❤️💙💓🧡

I love your channel. I tried this recipe and it tasted like heaven. My only worry is when I filter the vegetables am I not removing fiber from my food?
Yep! You sure can reduce the water from the onset. Or just let the soup simmer longer on stove to get the thickness you want. Ghanaians do eat it with plain boiled rice. Your family will love it for sure
Ooo yes! Cold sweats 😅. We had the thickened peanut butter soup with boiled white rice for Sunday lunch at the boarding school… o oo heavenly delish! Seriously salivating uncontrollably now. Gon go git sum?
This is similar to Filipino dish called "Kari-kari", we use oxtail and any beef cut, some add well cooked beef trife. The only difference is our vegies: eggplant, chinese long green beans or regular green beans and bokchoy, and are not blended. I do not add beef trife, not a fan of it. We eat it with rice and a side of (option according to taste) shrimp paste for saltiness. Good tip from you, to strain the peanut butter slurry. Thank you!
I recommend cooking it to completion first, and tasting it before making that determination. Im confident you’ll not need palm oil as this soup offers its own unique flavor that may be overpowered by palm oil

I can imagine it would be even better with the extra boost of flavors from the caramelized onion and extra ginger. I'll try it tomorrow for dinner

Good job and thank you
Your videos are a source of inspiration. I'll have to go and make this for my family.
Is there a link where you got your blue and white pots from ?
Yum yum. Could you thicken it more and eat with rice like a curry? That way I could sell it to my family. 👏👏
Yes you can by increasing the amount of peanut paste and reducing the water
@@MA-md3gu thanks

If I wanted to thicken this could I use cornstarch ?
❤❤❤❤❤ thank you

Aaah this soup is making me feel like I've taken blood tonic 😆 🤣 😂 Kyeres3 3kom koraa de me 😋
Good cooling ❤❤
Why sieve it? i would pour all in it.
Nice 👍
I don't like the taste or smell of hen or fowl. Can I use regular or baking chicken for this recipe?
Sure, you may even fry the chicken before incorporating if you wish. That tastes great too
Great
Is it possible to overcook? I forgot mine in the crockpot overnight. How do I fix the bitterness??
Could I replace the chicken with stew beef?
Love the video! I have a question, can I add in red palm oil? I feel like palm oil makes everything better😂
I recommend cooking it to completion first, and tasting it before making that determination. Im confident you’ll not need palm oil as this soup offers its own unique flavor that may be overpowered by palm oil
