Of all the neat (and expensive) fish in my tank, the snails are actually the most interesting to watch zoom around, and have the most boisterous personalities!

My snail climbed out of the tank and fell off the rack. Was so loud it woke me up and luckily I didn’t just go back to sleep but actually found it haha. It cracked its shell but it has recovered and now I cant see the crack without trying to find it. I love these snails so much. Haven’t bred any yet, but i have had corys lay eggs on its shell before lmao

Great video Blake we love our Goldies always had him always will we find it interesting though that people think they only live about a year we’ve had some live much longer than that and in fact get quite large not as big as apple snails of course but pretty darn big....We find them incredibly interesting to watch especially when we do time lapse videos of them.... we plan on doing more of those because they are so incredibly fun in fact we might shoot one today or tomorrow ....you’ve inspired us sir have a great day!!!!

I just came in to check one of my tanks and there's a 2.5-3" line of eggs on the lid. This is try #3 for this pair of purple mystery snails. They keep knocking their own eggs down. I think I have the most derpy snails ever! I haven't had luck with the styrofoam floating in tank, that was try #2, I saved the eggs from the top of a moss pad/ floating plant, they kept knocking into styrofoam and pushed their eggs off! So the breeder box might be my best bet. Thanks Blake!! 🙏💙✌️

Oh, I have a story to tell about a baby mystery snail! (a dime size) He often likes to get into tight spaces and hide. Just a few nights ago, while I was feeding the baby fish, I couldn't find him. I thought he must have gotten out of the tank, so I looked around all over the table, on all the wires and airlines, and still no sign of him. I stepped back and felt something on the floor through my sock... it was the baby snail! He was about a foot from the table, in the carpeting. Who knows how long he had been there?! I was upset that he had died, popped him back in the tank to save his pretty shell, and explained to my son that water snails can dry out if they get out of the tank. The next morning, I woke up to feed all the baby fish, and OMG! He was crawling on the front of the glass again. We called him Jerry, like his Mom Garry, (a whole different story) but now I'm calling him Jerry Lazarus! I've never had a snail come back to life like that before and I still don't know how he got out, but I've taped down all the possible exits on the lid.

Question: I have a ten-gallon tank and would like to know if I should add the baby snails to this tank immediately upon hatching. I worry they won't get the air that they need since they can't reach the top of the tank. I currently have the babies in a breeder box..which raises a question here too: If I keep them in the breeder box, is it necessary to have a tiny air filter in there as well? Or does the breeder tank not need one? Thank you in advance!

Also, every time I throw bloodworms in the feeder cone, I've come back a minute later to see my mystery snails had eaten the entire cube of bloodworms before the fish even knew it was there. I feed them tons of vegetables, snail food, and they have more than enough calcium- but for some reason, they seem to like meaty foods best. Don't get me wrong, it's not like they hunt any live animal down for food. I would just say they're opportunistic omnivores. If it's there, they'll probably eat it 😅😂
