I am starting to think most Jiu jitsu practitioners are stupid. Neil Melanson is still not the most popular guy to listen to? I use his stuff all the time now, and it has made my game way better. People are consistently befuddled; they must be watching the wrong videos.
So, thanks for this! Thanks for sponsoring this. Neil is the man!

his moves actually force the opponent to a position even if the opponent's resisting, many instructionals teach techniques that rely on the opponents movement, and they also do not explain when to apply the technique, for anyone starting grappling, they should understand this offline concept first before moving to other sub/ sweep setups

I'm not sure what you mean I love listening to his explanations. I follow him better than most any teacher I've had

Jiu jitsu practitioners don't like him because he comes from Catch wrestling background. JJ community have very poisonous attitude towards wrestlers, especially catch wrestlers.
I've tried to get my students (and others) to seek out more wrestlers to train with, but often hit a wall full stop due to some strange internal competitive "we vs they" attitude. This whole "jiu jitsu vs the world" attitude is a bit perverse to be honest.

+Kalle Pikku Where's your proof that BJJ guys avoid him because he does CACC? I doubt most BJJ guys ever heard of Neil being a CACC. CACC is bullshido btw. On the contrary to your claim, BJJ guys flock to wrestling training whenever it's available. In fact, wrestling is the most preferred style for stand up over other styles of stand up based grappling. Watch any top tier BJJ competition and you'll constantly see wrestling style takedowns whenever takedowns are used. Watch the no-gi bjj or adcc training camps and you'll see most competitors do some form of wrestling training session. Your claims about BJJ attitudes towards wrestling is highly outdated and false. Exactly what time period are you from? Since you also claim to be a coach, do you even know what the meta is like in BJJ competition?

+Ghost Jockey i agree. most bjj guys love to train in wrestling. but not catch wrestling. bjj guys like freestyle-western wrestling but not catch. i have yet to talk to a bjj guy that also trains in catch. im sure they are out there. .but it's rare

It opens up so many options for submissions and sweeps. It's a really cool concept to drill no matter what level you're at.
