Hey bud. My gf has a motor like this of her father's. I know it was 10 years ago but I was wondering how much you asked for yours? Also how much you'd ask for one now?
I had 2, I got 300 for one and 250 for the other. I suspect they would still be about the same provided that they are in good running condition and have had recent maintenance.
Looking for the PEE hole ? where is it can you send me a picture please mate ? or do you know how close to the leg ? was it a hose or a open hole in the base of the motor ?
The outboard has been sold for a while so I unfortunately cant send you a photo, but as for your question, the pee hole is part of the leg assembly but by location it is really on the underside of the lower cowl on the side of the shift lever. It is just a hole in the aluminum - it is between the two pins labeled as number 3 in this diagram www.thousandoakspowersports.com/fiche_image_popup.asp?fveh=173575§ion=3813566&year=1984&make=Yamaha&category=Outboard%20Motors&dc=7632&name=UPPER+CASING+BRACKET Good luck with your motor.
right got you thank you for your info mate. I got the motor given to me and its not pumping but its got a good impeller so I am off to the servo to pump some air up into the leg pipe see if I can get it cracking out some flow. Thanx again (Y)
The thermostats and journals in the exhaust jacket tend to develop salt crystals, personally I would start there, 9 10mm bolts on the tiller side of the engine.
George I have a problem. I pulled the leg off and no impeller I looked again and the head has cooling fins. There is a rounded tube that seems to flow freely with my mouth air. I'm a little confused did these come out in water cool and air cool
Models from 1973-1980 were air cooled - www.pf12.org/sailing/SailingArt/index/id_art/92 has some photos/info about those models. I haven't personally had any experience with them. Good luck!
this model is up to 1983.i recognize it from decals.

A 100 to 1?
How much did it sell for
$250 or $300 I think
The outboard is a short shaft.
that should be 50 to 1
100 to 1 is way to lean. it will burn up new piston rings..
25/1 new piston rings
sounds bad....
