Adorable quirky creatures but the thing is they will chase you if you piss them off. They work in groups so yeah you gotta be careful. I feel bad for these things because they are being pushed out of their habitat due to constant construction. They just want to find food. Hope the dog and lady are alright.
The sprinklers attract them, they've had their home disrupted and no where to go... I agree with the comment below ab out asking the developer who built there without properly asking wildlife management for assistance first.
People in this area are feeding the Javelina. The is what happens when they do not have fear of humans. Too many people have been told not to feed wild animals but they still don't listen. A lot of people in that area feed Bobcats as well. It's a recipe for disaster. If this is the Javelina's natural habitat how did the builder get permission 💰 to build on that land????
💯💯💯 my sister lives in a nearby complex and said people are always feeding them!! Now they’re constantly roaming around the area. Never a smart thing to do. I’m in Tucson and people put their garbage out the night before garage day. I walk my dog in the AM and see _at least_ 10 cans knocked over every week 😩 why don’t people learn??? Lol
@@thedouglaspodcast You are absolutely right. Luckily, we don't have a javelina problem but we never had a serious issue with them. Coyotes used to be a bigger problem but with all the building we don't see them as much anymore. Javelina can be very dangerous and foolish people still feed them. They can injure or kill pets, kids or even adults. We have people that are feeding bobcats and kittens in developments nearby, meanwhile their neighbors are losing cats and small dogs. Crazy stuff.
Easy. The cities are greedy for the property taxes that mass development produces. If you have enough $uction to build a new development, you get the permits - no problem. But if you are single homebuilder - you dont.

Pick your dog up Stop it's barking And climb up stairs or get on top of something. They don't see well and can't climb. Be smarter than the poor javelina for God's sake🤨
What I got from this news report is, if you see Javelina's in the neighborhood you need to be on the lookout for coyotes! I wonder if those irrigation systems are always on with water pressure or do the Javelina's just know the watering schedule and arrive for bathing? Kind of smart knowing that if it chews up the sprinkler that a lot more water flows freely!
Hello people. When you live right next to a preserve you have to expect that and I'm sure you signed a contract and just didn't see the fine print. Watch your pets. Don't feed the wild animals!
They must be walked at night. If you move here you must take evening walks away from the preserve. It's obvious you've never been a responsible dog owner. When will YOU learn?!
I walk my dog nightly, in fact we just saw a squadron of Javelinas in the greenbelt as we walked by, they didn't care, they just wanted to dig up grubs from the grass.
They built these apartments in the middle of the Javelina's habitat! How about we build more thoughtfully to nature? The wildlife are not in the wrong. Whoever gave the builder a permit to build there is wrong. Put them to "sleep"!

Thank you. The opening lines got it wrong.

My thoughts exactly
I live in Tucson, and a herd visits my backyard frequently. Leave them alone and they will leave you alone . . . full stop.
I just hit a damn javelina last week. Messed up my whole bumper and ac isn’t working
😢oh no
