They are domesticated, the big boar had no tusks. A wild boar with tusks protecting its young would have ripped that dogs intestines out and its owners
The dogs and the wolves are both responding to social cues they are sending each other. It begins when one of the two (probably the dog) starts to playfully maneuver around the pigs, seeing if it can run at the boars, but not fully committing. If the boars start running away or charging at the dog (like they did in this video), then we've got a game on our hands. A human could do the same thing if he/she behaved the same way as the dog, although, personally, I probably wouldn't be doing anything that would make the boar want to charge at me. It's like kids playing tag in the playground at school. The kids don't chase the teachers because they know that the teachers are not a part of the game. But if the teachers started giving social cues that told the kids they wanted in (the teachers wouldn't even need to explicitly say they wanted in), then the kids would start chasing the teachers also.

@@v3nomxxx961 Because the boars are not playing. They are protecting themselves and they are more than willing to seriously hurt the dog if they are able to catch it. You should really have respect for boars. They are literally walking tanks with fur. Their tusks are literally sharper than my kitchen knives. It is a wonder why the humans are not freaking out. The only reason the boars are ignoring the humans is because the sow is protecting her piglets from the dogs. They see the dog as a greater threat than the humans, and they can not run away as that put themselves in danger from the dog. So they have to stand up and fight. That is why the pigs are chasing the dog. It is to threaten it so it doesn't try to attack. If the dog attack any of the boars, the others will gut the dog alive.

Sleeping Giant It seemed to me the boars might be a part of the family of these people, ones they raise themselves, because the boars seemed to be following them, and the people were relaxed, just chiding the dog once in a while? Could that be possible, so the boars and dog would then know each other. The dog was, from my observation, definitely into playing... check out the wagging tail. The boars probably didn’t see the dog as a total threat, or yes, it would have been a whole different story. What do you think?

They sure aren't. And they are far more intelligent than the dog. That dog was about to get hurt if he kept it up. Stupid fucking humans!!
This title should be called German shepherd PLAYING with domesticated boars
Ah, now this reminds me of a sow I had when I was twelve. Her name was Sally and she used to do the same sort of "rough play" with my Australian Shepherd, Oddie.
Oddie would corral the piglets so they wouldn’t get lost, and she'd step in if he got a little too excited.
And when it wasn’t herding time, she'd actually let Oddie sleep with the little ones while she went mud bathing or got some food.
I always thought it was awesome
I can't believe you just said that I used to show pigs when I was in high school and I the Hampshire and I had a sow that I showed in the breeding class, and I named her Sally too! That was her registered name Sally! Lol

@@jerrydonquixote5927 Oh trust me. I'm well aware. It's part of the reason why I'm always reluctant to raise piglets for meat. Even though I love to eat said meat. 😅
@@Kaijugan yes I'm the same way I love to eat pork but I feel bad about it because pigs are intelligent, I feel the same about dogs I think they're too intelligent they're too close to mankind to be food and I know there's countries that do that and even a lot of people in those countries that do that don't agree with it, but I do try to buy at least buy the pork from ethical companies. I know like Hormel I've seen some of the horrible things they're doing in there, like the pig knows they're dying and they dragged it over there with a meat hook into the execution block or whatever you want to call it, and the poor pig is just pleading for his life and that's horrible, because they're highly intelligent and they are aware of their own mortality! I hate that I like pork! They're awfully casual around that boar and that dog is lucky it didn't get killed. Its almost as if the people, the dog and the boar all know each other. The wild boars where I'm from can be extremely dangerous especially when its young are around.
I'd imagine the people who filmed this have been around these animals before. There was no real hostility from the animals. Boars are pretty vocal, especially when they're threatened.
I was thinking the same thing.

The camera person deserves serious credit here. Wow. Really well done!
Or he just didn't know wtf he was doing. Even without tusks these boars can bite off fingers, tore your achilles, etc.
They are domesticated, the big boar had no tusks. A wild boar with tusks protecting its young would have ripped that dogs intestines out and its owners
No very wise though
It's interesting why the boars only focus the dog. They don't even mind about humans around them
dog/wolf . probably looks the same to a pig
@jeffery cody ditto
@jeffery cody it still doesn’t explain why the board were ignoring the humans
Nobody seems to have thought maybe the boars are not wild?

The boars are tame, not domesticated. Domesticated means you take a wild animal like a wolf and through breeding turn it into a chihuaha. That's domestication.

wow, you're so smart.
They are tame quite obviously. The way they move around the people and not away from them is a clear sign of that. The smaller boars also seemed to be somewhat playful with the dog, which the mother pig didn't like. So they are both wrong and correct, they dog was in danger of getting harmed.
