I’ve made a few of these pluckers. They are awesome. I drop all the fingers in the plate….stand the plate vertically….and spray the Bottom of the Plate with “Pam”or sprayable vegetable oil. Use a paper towel to grip the finger and the pull much easier.

My Yard-Bird plucker only lasted 2 years and all the fingers are cracked or broken off already. I hope these Kent C-25 fingers will fit my machine!

My videos are a mixed bag. I'm a real amateur at this. Your positive feedback is greatly appreciated!

I just have to comment on that rubber.. that is the rubber they used to use on everything made of rubber back when I was a kid in 1960s. Thing made back then of that rubber are still around today and the rubber is still good i it hasn't been in too much sun and/or has been worn out from use. Just a note on the position of those fingers when installing.. make sure the flat side of the finger are facing the direction that will make the most contact with the chicken... Larger surface area for better plucking... That first one you already had in is facing the right way as the plate spins, but the second one you put in is off just a tad, and the 3rd one is off even more.. in the barrel the flat sides face around the circumference... thin side ends top and bottom.. again facing the direction that will make the most contact with the chicken as it spins around the barrel.

my plucker is a horizonal drum type & I'll be damn if I can get the fingers back in it. tried everything.
I know they are the right size, because they are the same as I took out.

Or you can use that can of spray on oil from the cooking cabinet and pull/push by hand and be done before that stick is assembled.

Do you get both types of fingers? In the picture it shows skinnier and wider tipped fingers....

They are all the same fingers. The Kent c-25 fingers have a distinctive shape that tapers from round in cross section at the base to an oval shape at the tip, with the distinctive cross on the very end.

Elizabeth from far north California says, Herrick, your videos are so practical, and through your own wins and fails you make things easier for us! On Johnson mountain it's tough raising livestock on a slant, but if need be, we have a handy-dandy excavator that can make quick work to make a bench or flat area on which to raise meat-chickens. I will remember this great help when the time comes. That puller is so simple and yet easily effective. How's the remodel coming? It's spring out here. Our nectarine and almond trees are blooming first. That reminds me. How's the one or two apple trees you have in yonder pasture? Have you added more fruit trees? God bless ya'll.

Excavators are so handy. I don't live on a mountain but I think I could still put an excavator to work on my land, mostly digging drain lines to dry up my field! My home remodeling project has come to a temporary halt after getting the interior wall framing done. Electrical and plumbing are next. Spring has not arrived here. We have lots of snow and ice. But the temperature is supposed to get into the 50's later next week. That will be nice to see! My standard-size apple orchard trees are faring well under my regimen of benign neglect. I have not added more fruit trees. It's all I can do these days to just plant and care for my Minibed garden. Thanks for the inquiring comment, and the blessings! 👍

I've had my chicken plucker finger puller hanging in my garage for several years now. I may never use it again, but I can't part with it.
