      Having seen the duel Steve Vai is outstanding one that plays guitar can tell that the kid could in no way compete. Steve could you have your manager book a concert at 12 Tribes Casino in Manson Washington it would be fantastic and bring in a lot of fans to Lake Chelan from all over the world. Note Linder lived in Manson and built wood guitars in the 70s

Then once we got to school, we had to turn around and go back home because we had to work 1000 hours a minute in the burning hot sun on the farm and if I didn’t clean every square inch of that 69 acre farm in a timely manner I would have to sleep with the pigs. Same here, little over year and half ago did I have a passion for blues when first hearing it. As kiddo in high school right now, you probably know not many of my peers understand that blues was the Noah’s Ark that had born modern music nowadays. Most of buds when they hear my music will always put a southern accent and some dumb dialogue. To me, it too also started my guitar playing, learning riffs and now listening what’s notes are played in songs from now on. Blues was if not maker of famous artist when they first started.

Wore it out, got another copy, wound up going through 2 or 3 copies of the DVD over the next 15 years. And now 20+ years later I've probably downloaded the torrent 10 different times to rewatch it or turn someone new onto it. Forever indebted to everyone involved, this movie changed the lives of millions of people like me.

    Used to check cotton around the area where they filmed some of this. The bridge they crossed after being caught in the barn by the police goes across a lake on the backside of Shaw, MS. It's all caved in now. I know where the two supposed graves of RJ are and know where the memorial is on the outside of Morgan City. If you ever visit the grave in Quito, MS, the family across the road from the church is his distant relatives. Supposedly. They will ask you for money if you tell them you are visiting his grave. So, just keep your business to yourself. The bar where RJ was poisoned is right up the road, but it is also torn down.

I wasn't a big tele fan but after getting it home and plugging in I was hooked. I could play all the 80s shredder stuff on it, that I play on my Jackson and Charvel, and she reacted well to it and it sounded good. But when I started playing more finger picking country style and bluesy stuff on her she came to life. You could tell that's how she wanted to be played.

    As I understand it, Arlen Roth was teaching Ralph Macchio the guitar parts for this movie. In the background as part of Arlen's professional teaching, he started recording his first videos somewhere around 1984. I think six of those were Roth instructing and the other one was his friend John Entwistle, who we know better as the bass player of The Who. Six of these featured Roth as instructor and one was by his friend John Entwistle.

      @@arlenroth8373 Ralph did a decent job with it given that he's not a guitar player, but as a former guitar player of 17 years, I couldn't help but laugh at Ralph's finger position playing during the duel. I guess it was an easier sell to have him finger pick it with 3-4 fingers than have a pick that would require ridiculously tedious patterns that wouldn't have looked realistic to even appear to play it. It would have been difficult for him to even appear to be on the right string with the pick vs the left hand playing.

      @alexmarenco2399 3 роки тому +4

      It actually is expensive in 1986. It should sound bizzare, but that is the price that you would be paying for a rig like that today. I mean 70s teles were not considered vintage items until the 2000s, so the novelty factor is not included yet. They were simply used guitars. The one shown is probably 15-17 years old by 1986. The Pignoise is worth 75 dollars today brand new, and you can get an early 2000s used Tele for about 300-400 dollars in somewhat decent condition (the guitar shown in the movie looks very used and guitars depreciate if they are beat up or in somewhat poor condition). If you account the inflation factor, the dude was selling the rig for what could be 700 or 800 dollars worth today. So in essence, the movie is showing you that they were sort of getting ripped off.
