Is it your birthday, girl? Let's celebrate it
Is it your birthday, girl? Make a wish, 11:11
Is it your birthday, girl? Let's celebrate it.- Lizzo
It's Kara's birthday, and of course we are celebrating with this latest episode of Nobody Asked Us presented by Brooks Running. There are so many presents in this one...
Kara hopped up on Super Coffee. Per usual, crazy intro banter. Some love for your 40s. Stories of Des lifting weights?! Recaps from the final two days of the Oly Trials (W10K, M5K, W1500, M800). Surprise Olympians named post-Trials. Paris Diamond League madness, world records, and leveling up. UK Olympic selection rants. The Super 5 with a super, Super Coffee discount. And perhaps the biggest present of all... a very special guest joins for the final ~30 minutes, and you won't want to miss it.
It might be Kara's birthday, but we are all getting presents! After all, as the great Lizzo says... "Every day, every day is a birthday, hey every day is a birthday, hey, if you a bad b***h, today is your day."
To get your Super Coffee discount, please use the link below to order and add code NOBODYASKED for 20% off at check-out. Code valid on Amazon only. On Prime Day - July 16/17 - the code will bump to 25% off!

I’ve never related to anything more than that conversation about contacts. I think lasik could probably relieve some anxiety from my life and save me tons of money!

I’m late 30s and in my best shape - physically but also mentally and emotionally. It helps make the 40s and 50s a lot less daunting - very excited for what’s ahead and great to hear this from ladies I look up to!

After the women's 1500m Olympic trials final and Jess Hull's performance at the Paris diamond league I bet the era of women breaking 4 minutes in the mile is much closer than we think.

This was a fantastic episode! Nobody asked, but you gave us lots of great opinions.
One thing: Des said “We need to take a dramatic shift,” and I thought you said, “dramatic shit!” And I was like, what?! 😂
    46? Daaaaaaaaang, girl!
But maybe your mind is going now (forgetting phone is on)? ;-)

ask your optometrist: probably too late for lasik at 46 if goals it to be without corrective lenses/glasses completely. getting it will allow you to avoid corrective lenses for distance for some period of time, but you will need reading glasses all the time much sooner, which will negate the benefit. and of course there are some risk of side effects, most common of which are halos around lights at night (impairs night driving) and dry eyes. lasik is great if you're in 20s and myopic, but not too myopic, and not hyperopic.

Definitely check out Lasik. I had fantastic results but results are different depending on the individual. Worth looking into the options though.

Yes! I wear contacts too I think about it a lot too! I need my sight for survival and glasses suck if you have an astigmatism. My glasses create a pulling back a bow effect where if you look at anything straight on it bows out in the middle. I want lasik but I’d be walking around like a drunk for 2 weeks before it cause you can’t wear contacts for 2 weeks before LASIK

    Great episode as always.
Technical question- is there a way to put Kara and Des side by side on the screen as opposed to cutting off Kara’s head?

    • @nobodyaskedus
      @nobodyaskedus  20 днів тому +3

Thanks for the question! In this case, side by side vs. this layout wouldn't make a difference. Her head was cut off due to the camera orientation so it looks that way either way. We will work on the camera orientation!
