  • Editor's note: Des and Kara will blame me for this episode, while I would like to take credit. You be the judge!
The overview of this episode is pretty straightforward. Des and Kara catch up on their lives as usual... they preview a few Olympic events... they answer some questions from a friendship/partner Q&A and then finish with another Olipop Top 5. Simple enough and yet oh so good. You don't want to miss this one!
Some early content teasers: Team Pasta and/or Team Past (thank you Barilla)! Des's ideal birthday and birthday gift (Sorry Ryan... Des wants her own boat!). The potential chaos of the Olympic marathon route. Kerr, Ingebrigtsen or... Hocker? A reason for Kara to streak in the Olympic stadium? Fearing Kipyegon no more? The Hassan quadruple?
And then for the good part, where Des and Kara answer questions from a NY Times Q&A called... "The 36 Questions That Lead to Love." As introverts, they are uncomfortable with it, but they dive in reluctantly anyway and we learn so much...
The questions are part fun, part deep, and occasionally dark. They are two friends who are more likely to sing to themselves than give anyone a call, and we love them for it. Enjoy learning new things about Des and Kara!

I can’t think of many other people I would rather sit down with over a few beers and discuss running or anything else for that matter. Truly two joyful individuals.

I have never laughed so much at a podcast before. I had to stop and continue later because my fiancée was sleeping and woke up because of my laughter! “Guess i’ll try again next year” 😂😂😂😂

Absolutely loved this episode. Had to save it to listen with my BRF as we took a road trip (3 hours) to go check out a trail. The episode lasted us longer than 2 hours since we would pause and discuss between ourselves the questions and other tangets it brought up. If I knew I had 1 year to live I would travel and spend that time writing letters to my kids to have at future events/milestones (graduation, wedding, etc). But with Des's point, maybe I should go ahead and do that now since we are not guaranteed tomorrow. Love this podcast just the way it is but really did enjoy this episode.

Love you both! This morning on my run and I was literally laughing out loud listening to this episode. I’m sure a few people thought I was a little crazy as I was by myself. 😅 Can’t wait for the Olympics and listening to your thoughts on them!

I love how real you both are and how your conversations make the listener feel like they’re sitting as a real part of the dialogue. Absolutely relatable and if men wonder what normal women sit and talk about this is it. Life, sports, animals, etc. Just shooting the shit. Thanks for my absolute favorite pod and can’t wait until the Paris episodes. Until then I’ll just be listening to Many Men on my long runs.

I love everything about the pod! I love that you're not sellouts (but get it if you do someday) and I love the candid nature of it all. If I had ONE suggestion from this data loving lady, it would be to tell us more about training for both of you. How many miles are being logged? What's the threshold/speed/tempo workout of the week? Long run? etc.. It doesn't have to be detailed. But I find all of that fascinating. I LOVE following Dakota and Clayton's training on Strava but I don't even need all of that. It could be a sponsored thing too! The Olipop recap of the week.. The super coffee stats. Thanks for all you do for the sport!

Questions were hilarious. Laughter is the best! Thanks for the release. I was a phone script girl. I'd F it up and hang up mid sentence. Never mind, I don't need anything. Great pod as always. looking forward to your Paris shows.

    "Everything can be replaced"
No, my late mother's original artwork cannot. Given one thing to save, it would be one of her paintings. Sadly, the first two I would save are both gone. But one masterpiece remains and it would go with me.

Here's my feedback: I LOVE the tone and attitude of the show. I appreciate there is no censorship here, that you two say whatever is in your mind. Keep that up! Some things that could be made to make this even better: 1) Provide a list of topics as an index with hyperlinks in the info/description section. As much as I like the show, it's kind of long and sometimes I don't have the time to listen to the whole thing through. 2) I am a recreational runner. I assume lots of your listeners are recreational runners as well. I'd love to hear tips to run better from two professional runners like you that I care and respect so much.
    Thank you!!!

lol. “Pay yourself first.” In my Finance class that meant putting money in your retirement account before anything else from your paycheck. 😂

I mean, yeah. But the psychology is take care of yourself first and you’ll figure the rest out because you have to. I’m plenty good on retirement funds, the purchase was a lifestyle statement. Same philosophy though.

the best is at 52:05. Two famous runners & TV commentators that have anxiety about making phone calls. I guess it's true runners are introverts. So funny. Great pod yall.

Kara I have the same fear about Alzheimer’s/dementia - my mom died last year with Alzheimer’s - now I am all about brain health - maybe too much lol - green tea is my recommendation for you and me!!! Love you guys - always waiting for a new pod episode - and I did get some Super Coffee with your code - my fav is the Mocha latte. Des - I suffered through the 2018 Boston too #swamtoboylston ❤️💖
Keep doing what you are doing ladies!!!

You feel old at 41? That makes me feel good cuz I'm 70 and I feel old but I don't feel sore unless it's an injury but I almost always have an injury. Right now I have a new one, a BUNION on my left big toe. And I have a wonky right knee that might be getting better. It takes me two miles to warm up now.

Wow, and then 23:16 in and the 6th commercial break. That’s just crazy. I imagine you lose A LOT of viewers because of this. I know I’m thinking of clicking off to watch something else, and I’m a fan of your show.
