The city made them close the tree down in Silver Lake. Really sad! No more chandelier tree

@@DazewithJordantheLion They are trying to get a permit and work it out according to the fb page. But so far nothing. I got the feeling neighbors were complaining about traffic. It was such a cool thing and we live near and went all the time. Really miss it.

I LOVE Andy Griffith. He reminds me a lot of my dad. He has the same mannerisms and politeness about him and talks a little like him too. RIP both of them.

Great to see where Andy lived while out in California. The way I heard it, Don was watching the Danny Thomas show and HE thought that a deputy would be a good idea so he called Andy and Andy agreed. I heard Don and Andy tell that story at least a dozen times. The reason Don left the show for movies was because Andy had decided to end the show, then after Don was under contract to a studio Andy decided to continue the show. I think that's why there was no bad blood between them, it was just business. Great work Jordan. Please give Jah a big hug for me.
Yeah, i think i told most of that when i did Don Knotts house, so i wanted to change it up a bit, but i had forgotten andy was going to leave originally. Good reminder
Loved the chandelier tree! It reminded me of Christmas! Loved the beautiful houses. Of course I grew up with the Andy Griffith show too. That is one show no matter how often you see an episode it never gets old! Really loved this vlog! RIP Andy Griffith. Thanks for sharing Jordan!

Andy was one of the rare individuals in Hollywood who had strong moral values and never abandoned them. Friendship and loyalty were very important to him. Most of the cast and crews of his shows worked the entire runs and then again with Andy in his later productions. Andy gave a lot back to his home in North Caroline. UA-cam is full of wonderful clips of Andy on talk shows and interviews praising those he worked with and those who kept him famous, his fans.
The quote that I remember the best from Andy, regarding his show, was, "it was all about love". What a succint summation of his idea for the show! I had an autographed picture of him as a kid, when my mom worked at Universal Studios, but unfortunantely it is long lost!!! My mom remarked frequently that Don Knotts was, "a prince of a man". Xlnt tribute to such an iconic great guy, by you Jordan!!
Love Silverlake, seems like a magical place. The chandelier tree is inspired. Didn’t know much about Andy Griffith, really interesting.

Great vlog. Don Knotts lived up in the fourth floor of my apartment building. When Don fell ill during his last months, I hear that Andy visited him here frequently.
Im going to vlog your bdg then at some point.. ive been by but never vlogged it. Surprisingly busy street for his last days
He died about a month before we moved in. My roommate got friendly with his widow, who was much younger than Don. She was here for a while after he passed but then sold the unit. It was the penthouse on the fourth floor. Allegedly, he was living here during his Three's Company days. If you ever do that vlog, please let me know. I would love to meet you.

A favorite show with it's sweet and sometimes goofball stories. No Time For Sergeants & Onion Head were 2 my mom urged me to watch being so hilarous. A Face in The Crowd I also really liked and it showed his versatility as an actor. Gosh the tree was unique! Yay Jah!!!

I love Andy Griffith, thank you! When I seen the eye ball on the lawn, I knew you were close, so I was hoping you were going to the tree. In May when we were in LA area we went to The Chandelier tree twice or three times and it never was lite. So thank you so much, great day for me today. When we were up there we kept running into a Coyote, he followed us in our car for awhile. My daughter's were freaking out because I was calling to him like a dog, to come over to us. I know they kill little pets and rodents, and they can be dangerous, and germ ridden, but I couldn't help myself, he was so cute. We get one in our neighborhood here in Portland, but I never get close or feed them.

What a fun and informative vlog of my favorite triple threat entertainer! I knew Andy Griffith was a jokester, singer, and actor. Jordan filled in the skeletal knowledge I had of the down-home talent. The details of the relationships he had with Don Knotts and Ron Howard were heart warming.

Great vlog!! Every year about the middle of May my mom and I go to Indianapolis for a week for the Indy 500 practice and qualifications.....it turns out that a little town outside of Indianapolis, Danville, has a Mayberry Festival and this past May, the tribute artists, the cast members of the show, and Andy Griffith's daughter & George Lindsay's (Goober) son stayed at the same hotel as us.....so we got to see them everyday they were there. We didn't know about the festival beforehand; so, we didn't have an opportunity to go check it out, but apparently it's very popular...maybe next year we'll try to go. Btw.....I had Sheriff Taylor's police car parked next to me in the hotel parking lot!! Totally cool!! Thanks Jordan!!

Thank you kindly, my friend! :-D Andy had always said he'd quit after the 5th season and even up until the beginning of filming it so Don thought he'd better look for a job and then Andy changed his mind. He did tell the Dillards/ Darlings to llay their own music because they would still get paid. They didn't get really anything for reruns but, they did have to pay for music. This is why 8 public domain episodes have jazzy music lol! When my wife and I finally made it to Franklin Canyon from home here in N.C. Andy passed 3 days later. :/

I lived in the Lakeside Apartments, Coeur d'Alene building, in Toluca Lake. Used to see him at the steakhouse, Charlie's. My brother sang there. I took ballet class at Natalie Claire's Ballet La Jeunesse! It became a thrift store, I think. You took me down Memory Lane again! Great vlog!😍 You're the best!😍

It may sound shallow but for years in watching The Andy Griffith Show, I have wondered sometimes what Andy's house looks like. If his house had any resemblance to the house he had on the show, with Aunt Bee knitting on the porch. You now have quieted the mystery and I can see he lived well but not over the top which is typical Andy. Of the Chandelier Tree,,,,all I can think to say, it is quintessential California and that is why we love it so much.

Great vlog I live in North Carolina 2 hours south of Mount Airy where Andy grew up Charming little town they have a festival ever September call Mayberry Days very entertaining weekend they have a museum with a lot of props from the show definitely a must-see if you're in North Carolina the second weekend in September every year

Toluca Lake had some Fabulous Jazz supper clubs along Riverside Drive for yrs, that I often frequented on Friday or Saturday evenings just west of Bob's Big Boy a tad
I grew up in a small town that felt like Mayberry... if you ever come to my state you could vlog Mt Airy!... lots of Mayberry stuff... Thelma Lou is still kicking and comes around

Sorry this is late Jordan it was a great vlog. So many memories with him and all his shows. Don and he were truly best friends he was there when Don passed urging him to fight calling him by his first name Jessie (which Don didn't like but was a tease, he called Andy Ang for Andy Griffith which they used in the show) and he said I love you ,Don moved a bit and was gone so Andy figured he heard him, now that is true f friendship.

I read that one of my favorite actors, John Davis Chandler (1935 - 2010), lived in an apartment in Toluca Lake during almost the whole time he lived in Calif. He was originally from West Virginia & specialized in playing bad guys. Hopefully you can find out where he lived & do a vlog on his longtime apartment. In the meantime, thanks for all your hard work ! CHEERS !! :-)
