    thanks for the video... My new (used) Bav38 has a brand new D1-30 engine which I've never seen before... I'll change all the filters and oil of both engine and saildrive, and your video took half of my worries away about what I'm about to do tomorrow... other half (water seperation filter before the engine compartment and the SD stuff) stays :))

      No worries. Just change the fuel pre filter. Check if there is no water in separator. Saildrive oil - I would recoment to change while on hard (on land), to drain it all the way from the screw under the saildrive. Don't forget - if it's Volvo 130s, use the same - engine oil.

      @@sailor1987rumley Ex-owner gave all spares and oils as ready-to-do on board to me and told he was about to change them but he get lazy, right after he's marina neighbour decides to sell his OC43... he said that if he's got to change he's new boats filter stuff, then it's fair for me to do the same and I shouldn't complain about that :))

    Hi. Thx for the video. One question. Why are you using the dipstickhole instead of using the oil drain pipe? Are you really able to suck all 3,6 lieters from the dipstic hole?

      Hi. I'm doing it this way to prevent mess. Using a drain hole is always messy. And yes, you can take out all, just remember to warm up the engine before. It makes it easy.

    Have a question...when you changed fuel filter, wasn't there a need to get the air out from the lines ?

    • @portasailing2720
      @portasailing2720  3 роки тому

      I did. By pumping it with the black button, You simply flushing the system with fuel.

      @@portasailing2720 didn't u have to open a top screw to release air while pumping ?

      @@simonmaron Air is going further to return to the fuel tank. It works. And the amount of air in the system, after filter change is very small.
