On a left-hand drive - rest of the world, the cabin air filter location is the same, but on the passenger side. In other words, it is always located on the right hand side of the transmission tunnel. These instructions are the same, and valid for left-hand drive vehicles. Thank you for the video!
The top filter wants to bind up on the entry port during install. You have to push the top of the filter in for it to feed without binding. Clearly, BMW doesn't want their vehicles to be worked on by owners. The cabin air filter swap in my 2018 Infiniti Q60 takes 10 minutes and no tools.
There is a plastic cover underneath the glove box that looks like it doesn’t come down. Not sure it’s removed or not but it’s blocking the door. Does it have to be removed or does it pull down? US model.
The only part Thats not shown in this video is removing the 2x filters from the housing. 1. Remove plastic panel 2.open filter door 3. Remove old filters 4. Replace with new filters 5. Close filter door 6. Replace plastic panel Hope this helps This is a right hand drive X2
Hi, the plastic trim panel has a torx 20 screw that needs removing, the panel is quite tight and the clip is recessed in to the trim panel if you give the trim a firm pull it will come off the trim panel is pretty robust. You may want to use a plastic trim tool to aid removal this usually helps when plastic trim panels are difficult to remove as you can gently pry it lose first. Thanks for your question let us know how you get on with this 🙂@@MrAvlandrew
Just changed my filters. Wow. That was not easy in any way, shape or form. No standards screws, my hands are bleeding, and this design just sucks to do dyi.

Just like the manufacturer intended. They want everyone to go to the dealership for everything.
