Hi, the plastic trim panel has a torx 20 screw that needs removing, the panel is quite tight and the clip is recessed in to the trim panel if you give the trim a firm pull it will come off the trim panel is pretty robust. You may want to use a plastic trim tool to aid removal this usually helps when plastic trim panels are difficult to remove as you can gently pry it lose first. I'm glad the video has helped im guessing most Audi A4 of thos age group are suffering common problems such as this, the other was my Tandem pump which is above this pipe a few weeks after there was a diesel leak from the Tandem pump so i bought a seal kit and replaced them its clean and dry now from antifreeze and diesel so my A4 is happy again, good luck with yours its a rewarding job and reassuring especially on longer journeys knowing these issues are fixed

Hi and thanks for commenting and the compliment on the clean engine bay ive owned for 11 years this year and was on 52k miles when i bought now 151k but i always wipe the engine down every wash and its never been pressure washed. The pipe is genuine and is holding up so far - i have recently replaced all gaskets within the Tandem Pump as it had a small diesel leak - Tandem Pump are very common at high mileage and age to develop leaks but its a very DIY do it your self job and quite enjoyable to do kits on ebay are very reasonable.

Actronics are very resonable though they do require a garage to organise sending it to them - they might repair if you went to them but call them and see what they can suggest - Edd China used Actronics in one of his videos quite recently have a watch

My personal view and experience of this set up is it's a good balance I would say perfect if this is your daily driver as the look is fantastic its 5mm lower than a standard A4 B6 Sport and the difference between the SE suspension tyres and ride height is incomparable the SE was like a ship at sea where this Koni STR H&R combo is what my Golf GTI handled that was the same set up but had the adjustable yellow Konis. A lot of people have had a noticeable difference with just the H & R lowering springs mind if you're on a more tight budget.

Thank you for commenting - Your choosing excellent quality springs with Eibach springs - I find the ride quality still acceptable obviously it's not a big fluffy mattress anymore but equally its not a Nurburgring bone shaker - i hope you find it's the perfect balance also - please update when its completed be great to hear your views

I'm so glad that the video helped. This mondeo in the video was left like this for quite some time before the new struts were finally installed, I myself was quite surprised at the weight of the tail gate those orginal Ford struts had certainly done their job.

This video is to replace the strap from the orginal cap as they rot off. So i replaced just the strap using a Febi replacement cap and strap as i wanted to keep my orginal audi cap and a new one was over £40 from Audi at the time, but yes if replacing the entire cap and strap you do not need to press out the 2 pins on the strap.

@@carsonstage4274 No, you can remove the ring from the fuel cap. The ring that you pushed the pins out of. Not the whole fuel cap.

Yes you would if both were blocked fortunate that it was only the 1 under the battery the other is beneath the servo UK RHD model shown, the water will get in everywhere if the plenum chamber is full od water though and will flood the floors destroy the CCM central control module that controls the electric windows heaters etc etc in short it can cause nightmare problems.

Hi and thank you for your comment My original lock switch actually fell apart, however this didn't affect the rear windows. Also on installing the upgraded switches from the sline B8 audi a4 again this didn't affe t the rear windows and so the rear windows operate perfectly. That said if your original switch is working correctly I'd make sure its switched to allow the rear windows to operate normally before disconnecting the switch. Glad you enjoyed the video! I didn't realise quite how heavy the tail gate was until releasing the last strut in the video it was a surprise so your experience must have been pretty surprising and scary too, this coming down suddenly would definitely cause serious injury, im sure your relieved to have some new struts in, I was amazed how long the ones on this Mondeo in the video lasted ... That's a lot of weight to keep hurling up for 18 years!

The only part Thats not shown in this video is removing the 2x filters from the housing. 1. Remove plastic panel 2.open filter door 3. Remove old filters 4. Replace with new filters 5. Close filter door 6. Replace plastic panel Hope this helps This is a right hand drive X2

Im afraid not, this model of BMW is fairly new to me and i haven't had any dealings with the blue n me module, there are some fantastic forums for BMW owners online id try there first as there seems to be nit a great deal of information on this model here on UA-cam i hope you find the information you need all the best with it! 🙂

I'd like to think that your idea to slightly taper the end/s would work, they are a pain, the other advice is to make sure you have a large cloth or similar around where your working so if they do pop out when trying to install you don't lose them, let me know how you get on and all the best with it!

@@carsonstage4274 Thanks :) managed it eventually after several hours, I sanded one of the ends of the pins a little to give it a bit of a taper and constructed a cardboard template that sat over the hole and held the pin in place then with the cap resting on my desk (no vice) I gently tapped the pin with some closed pliers (no small hammer). Once it had got it started in the hole I placed a small block of wood over the pin and tapped that with the pliers to try to prevent any damage to the pin or to bend it. Challenging job, those 5mm pins are far to small. As you say the ideal situation is they stay slightly in the hole but mine pinged out without warning :)

@@canaanukltd im glad you got there with this fiddly job, i think all information on this subject with the fuel cap will be invaluable as its like this on most if not all VAG vehicles, so will continue to be an issue. Excellent question im actually not sure, however if you slightly lift the gearbox insulation under the A4 you'll notice the passenger drain so should be fairly straight forward to check the drivers side 🌟

Yes, its definitely something to keep in mind whilst doing this, they start off very tight and then pop out without warning If you did lose them I'd probably fashion some new pins from an old piece of scrap plastic, you could melt it in with a soldering iron if needed and if you needed to replace the strap in the future just drill it out with a very fine drill bit. If you haven't seen the video of someone using electrical heat shrink to repair the strap its worth a watch and you dont need to press the pins out to do it, its a good quick repair Thanks for the comment!

Hi its a B6 A4 2003 Audi didn't have anything even with the strap code. They did have the fuel cap and strap together. I bought a febi cap and strap for around £10 took the strap off and fitted it to my original audi cap this worked perfectly part no. febi 27288 The febi caps fit numurous vw and audi vehicles. Of course the febi cap ive kept as a spare in case my audi cap needs replacing in the future. The febi cap strap is very good quality too and my cap is safe from falling off at the fuel station
