In the Week 62 update for ICARUS it introduces the Thumper new item which will spawn the Landshark, Upon taking down the Landshark ores and Minerals will respawn.

Glass has been removed from the recipe & doesn't regenerate deep ore viens.
Been a player on Icarus for a very short time but for what I've played and noticed, for the open world players like me this is HUGE! Looking forward to see something similar for the rest of the nodes such as trees ,plants and stone. Great Vid!
I'm fairly sure the devs are working on those, yeah I like this change also adds a nice dynamic & thank you 😊
Had NO idea that the landshark was going to happen. Ran around screaming, jumping and went through ALL my arrows.. what a pain.

Great vid but I want to point one thing out : " A wind turbine provides 1750 wat and that thumper needs 1500 , it will be more then enough to hook it up too. Will always work when placed cause wind is everywhere in this game outside. And you craft them at like 25% of the cost of a solar panel , and since it provides a third of the energy it is even cheaper in comparison. Excuses if wind turbines weren't added yet at the time of this vid.
This video was made the day the thumper came out so will be out dated regarding power but thanks for the info

I see the developers have been watching "Dune"( a 1984 movie) they use a thumper to summon the Worms (the size of the titanic (The spice must flow)) Plagiarism I guess is a good complement, when you cant think of anything new.
It's just a generally good feature, nothing wrong with taking ideas from other ip's blizzard have been doing it for years with they're games lol.

I crafted the thumper and I think I made the mystake of putting it in a cave. The spawning of the Land Shark was a welcomed surprise but after killing the cryptid "no oar respawned and still hassen't after two in-game day's. So my take is the oar spawning only applies to land placement. Also after killing the land shark I turned off the power waited for a bit went back to the cave and the shark respawned. Was this a glitch or is this the norm? BTW "Fortizar" ty for all the hard work you do. If I wasn't on a fixed income I would support your channel further, but alas I can not. avb
Mate, first of all, you commenting is more than enough never apologise about money.
About the landshark, what risk level was it when you placed the the thumper down? If it's on high risk multiple will spawn.
But I'd recommend putting it outside of caves as the thumper radius will cover any cave in the game.
It respawns ores in caves and node ls outside, from what you described that sounds like a bug it not respawning.
@@Fortizar Wow Man ty, Quick response ty. As for lvl I'm in easy mode. I chose that becausee I wanted to learn the game mechanics before I try Norm or Hard. thanks agian for the prompt resonse. Also later tonioght I am going to place the thumper again and see if I get multiple spawns of the shark again. I'll let you know if there is an issue. avb
Try placing it outside a cave and make sure to check the risk level on the front of the thumper.
On easy mode if the risk level is high you will still get multiple landsharks but will be easier to kill.
I just used my thumper at around lvl42. I actually placed it in that same cave, I didn't know of the radius this thing had to replenish resources. Placing it in the cave on a High Risk reading was a bad idea. Probably got deleted 3 times by so many worms OMG 3 land sharks and 2 Huge worms. I'm doing Open World but wanted some danger!! Got to the point were I shouldn't run back to base in fear of the base being demolished. Peaked my head in the cave and it was replenished and the worms were gone. Haha Yeah just make a thumper to test your survival skills.
Haha, yup, high risk. You'll definitely get a fight on your hands.
I'm new to the game. I'm already level 54, but my technology tier is still Tier 3. lol. I'm not even close to making a Fabricator yet due to the lack of copper wires. I probably made way too many copper nails for creating interior wood decors lol. You being lvl42 with a thumper is really impressive to me.
@yerahmeelspawn Thx, no worries. My friend helped me build a safe base and he never played again. So he built stuff that I couldn't with my newb level so there is that.
I tamed a bunch of Buffalo and had at least two Lamas trained at a time. Then drilled ore from compost energy cans. Then ran back and forth so many times!! Helps if your just constantly mining copper with help from the river wheel. All together I had two bases and eventually learned how to build a forge so I could take them bricks of copper.haha I forget the name of the brick there is a term for it I know but haven't played in 6 months. My stubborn land sharks got the best of me.
How long does the thumper have to be active to respawn the ores? I didn't see a timer, or it is over when you finish off / defeat the really big sand worm. Looks like a new addition to the open world.
You have to kill the landshark as far as I'm aware, no timer.
The thumper stopped for me when it took some damage around 20%.
And it will be ussable on open world as that's were I tested it.
The ore appeared to be in the cave for me once I made it back so I'm saying instantly or within a minute maybe 🤔

yeah it respawns everything :)
god was not expecting it just did my first one had 6 of them worms spawn one outside a cave only a small cave then 4 inside so i ran but there was one more outside that was underground had to leg it as i was not expecting so many and did not have great amour on and the one underground followed me back to my base and tottaly wrecked it now will have to spend days to get it back and all the equipement back things like several wind turbines batterys walls floors feed trough and several benches in short if you spawn one and its too many run a way a bit and alt f4 and they go though the ore is not respawned if you do this

This wont make trees & plants respawn but I'm not sure if that's planned any time soon.
@@Fortizar hmm yeah that the thumper does not, that i know, but if I m not mistaken they mentioned in last patch notes that they gonna give us two deployables.
Hmm if there's a 2nd deployable it wasn't on the experimental branch but the devs don't always put everything on the branch for people to test.

How long does it take to respawn the ores? Does it finish the respawn as soon as you kill the worm?
The minute you kill it, they appeared for me in f2 where I was. There is no visible timer, though.
Update on this, there is a visible timer now, I just used the thumper and the timer progressed over time. From what I saw it was not based on enemies killed but rather that fixed timer.
Additionally, I think the enemies remain there until killed even after the thumper finishes. A hunting rifle can also kill the landsharks quickly if you shoot when they aim for critical hits.

Is this a mission you have to do to get this thing to be available? Its not in my tech tree..
Hey this will be available to you in tomorrow's patch and no mission you will have to unlock it via tech tree only.
