Tolobek Satkyn Thanks for your comment. Here are some small corrections:
      1. I got a scarf and the best belt for my birthday. --> Correct
      2. I am going to get some milk, loaf and butter at the supermarket. Correct - but it is better to change the order because there is a mix of countable and uncountable nouns: "I am going to get *a* loaf and *some* milk and butter at the supermarket."
      3. I got up a little later then usually because I have stayed up --> I got up a little later than *usual* because I stayed up late last night. (If the first verb is past simple, then the second verb must be past simple also. We are describing staying up at a specific time, therefore we use past simple.)
      4. I get on well with Edward. --> Correct.
Well done, you have learned a lot of new words from this lesson.
      Best wishes

+danzambra Hello Ambra and thanks for your answers. Here are some comments and corrections:
      1. I'm getting fruit and vegetables at the supermarket because I haven't found an open market. --> correct - "I'm getting" (present continuous) is correct if you are describing what you are currently doing *now*. If you want to say that you always get fruit and veg at the supermarket, then you must use the present simple : "I get...."
      2. I'm still in bed, so I haven't got up yet. --> correct
      3. I get on well with Francesco, my lovely husband. --> correct
Well done, you have learned a lot from this lesson.

Thanks Andrew, I just wonder if there really is a way to learn English without making simultaneous translations. that is, as are their classes.
because there are many other English courses bearing the respective translation into Spanish and more or less be understood gradually. but in the case of the courses that are only in English and no simultaneous translation. As the learner be provided without the appropriate translation. That is my concern. Thank you. God bless you

    • @CrownAcademyEnglish
      @CrownAcademyEnglish  10 років тому +4

Victoria Mendoza I think for *certain* aspects of learning a new language, having lessons in one's first language is effective. For example, if you are a beginner and you want to learn a new English word like "whisk", it is very difficult for a teacher to explain that word to you in English. But if the teacher tells you the meaning in Spanish ("batidor") then you immediately understand. However the problem is that often too much time is spent hearing Spanish and not enough time hearing English. We must remember that everyone learns their first language without any translation into another language and that people who travel to a new country and are surrounded by the new language learn it very quickly because they aren't spending much time translating into their first language and they are immersed in the new language. It feels harder to learn a new language without much translating especially at the beginning, but I think it is definitely more effective in the long-term. Probably the best solution is to combine the 2 methods. Follow lessons only in the new language and try to guess and deduce new words from the context and then to check with a Spanish-English dictionary for reference.
      Best wishes
      Andrew

Crown Academy of English Andrew, God bless you for your patience and for the time you spend to answer my messages.
I am looking a lot like your lessons directly to my email. There are many questions about it and is very uncomfortable that everyone read our thoughts.
Anyway, I am very grateful to God for your good sense of humanity and I will keep in mind your good advice. "Total placing in English only." I try not translate to the maximum. I read a lot, and I understand many of the things I read. I have enough vocabulary in my mind.
My biggest difficulty is understanding people when they speak. I can write some short sentences that are literally as in Spanish, meaning that there is no need to change the word order. but when it comes to long texts, letters or poems, because I write many poems, it is difficult for me that the order of the words. Thanks again and God bless you.

Sarwan ebrahem Thanks for your answers. Here are the corrections and comments:
"Iam going to get clothes at the supermarket" Correct use of get but don't forget the article "some" --> "I am going to get *some* clothes at the supermarket."
"iam getting some fruits at the supermarket ( i have doubt )" Correct use of get in the present continuous but "fruit" is an *uncountable* noun. Therefore its form is always *singular* --> "I am getting some *fruit* at the supermarket." (I advise you to watch these 2 lessons: 1) Countable and uncountable nouns | English grammar lesson *and also* 2) When to use "some" and "any" | English grammar lesson )
"I got up at seven o'clock this morning ." --> Correct
"Samira gets on well with me ." --> Correct
Well done, you used all the words correctly with the correct meaning. There were just those 2 grammar mistakes.
      Best wishes

counselor Pyo Thanks for your answers. You use GET correctly but there are just 2 minor grammar mistakes:
"i am going to get some noodles at the supermarket" --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter: " *I* am going to get some noodles at the supermarket."
      "i got up at 10 o'clock" --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter: " *I* got up at 10 o'clock."
"i am getting on with my friend, buzas" --> --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter and it is better to use the present simple tense: " *I get on* well with my friend, Buzas." (names *always* start with a capital letter also.)

alican kaya Thanks for your answers. You used "get" correctly but there are a few grammar mistakes. Here are the corrections:
Im going to get a bowl milk --> *I'm* going to get a bowl *of* milk. (Don't forget the apostrophe for contracted forms and the word "of" for "bowl *of* milk")
I got up 9 am this morning --> I got up *at* 9 am this morning (We say "at" when describing the time we do something.)
I m get on well with you --> We can say "I get on well with you." (present simple) or "I'm getting on well with you." (present continuous) I explain the present simple here: Present Simple verb tense | Present simple English verb and the present continuous here: Present Continuous verb | Present progressive verb | English present tense
      Best wishes
      Andrew

+Thơ Nguyễn Hello and thanks for your answers. Here are some comments and corrections:
      1. I am going to get some bottle of milk, candy, snack for my kids and get some thigh of chicken to prepare a meal.
-> I am going to get some milk, candy, snacks for my kids and some chicken legs to prepare a meal.
      2. I got up at 6:10 this morning, It's was late to get my kids go to school, because I had drunk beer with my peers last night
-> I got up at 6:10 this morning. It was late to get my kids to school, because I had drunk beer with my peers last night
      3. I got on well with my new colleague -> I *get* on well with my new colleague (present simple for a regular habit or event)
Well done, you have learned a lot from this lesson.
      Best wishes,
      Andrew
