Yes I agree the older the music the better..I really miss the old music on the radio in my car...so I play alot of CD Conway Twitty.. Reba McEntire ...George Jones... Travis Tritt .... Merle Haggard ...I have a lot of them and love them all.💞🤗💞
I am so glad that Tanya Tucker finally won 🏆. I am glad president Bush mentioned Dottie West and Minnie Pearl. I miss George and Barbara. Dolly Parton is so sweet. 😍
Correction old country is the best!! I listen to all the big winners to day on my music library. Love Reba's big hair 😍 💕 she looked beautiful too. It sure was nice seeing George Jones and Nancy. I loved it. 🎶🎤🕺💃❤️❤️
Country Music was better in the 70’s, 80’s, and the 90’s, than the music today that Nashville claims to be Country Music. Some of it’s country and some of the music is rock. Thanks again for the real country singers.❤❤ 6:27
It’s sweet seeing how happy everybody was for Vince Gill. He was on the verge of blowing up for years and had made so many friends by the time he finally did. It’s plain to see how much respect the room had for him.
1991 is when it started. Such an obvious change from 1990 to 1991, literally like a light switch that was clicked on. Best country music ever 1991 - 1999
Sad to hear about Nami Judd's passing but glad she had years of life ahead of her when we thought she didn't have much time left. 20:38 is the Judd's award and speech "because of Jesus I know there is light after darkness" -Naomi Judd
The energy Mary Chapin-Carpenter showed on stage while performing Twist & Shout was amazing. Plus seeing then President Bush and the First Lady directly infront of her enjoying it made this even better!!
The 90s were a great time for pop country. It still sounded like country music. Now days you have to look outside of the mainstream to find country music this good
I was on my way to work a week or so ago . The disk jockey said , he had a classic to play . When he played the song it was ,Pocket full of gold by Vince Gill. I realized at that moment father time was catching up with me
I will binge watch these old CMA and ACM award shows on here and not ever watch another present day country music award show. Country was so good and so real and had talent back in those times.
I was so happy that Travis Tritt won the Horizon Award. He absolutely deserved it. And on top of that, he's one of my favorite country singers of all time, ever.
Thanks for posting. I mussed 40+ years of programs was busy esrning 2 degrees working full time raising 3 kids late husband earning 3 degrees working 12 hours in the 90s & just now catching up on Vince Gill.
I love George Strait and George Jones too!!!!! Good shoutout Garth. I loved seeing President Bush and Mrs. Bush smile at that. They were like “You rock Garth!!! Good job buddy!!” I know they loved country music like I do.
Thank you so much for posting this. It brings back a lot of memories of having fun watching with my Mom and Aunt and loving seeing all of the clothes, performances and tributes. So much fun to watch again all of these years later. ❤
I agree with comment by jarednesbitt2837....back when you had to have TALENT to be invited to the country music awards...today (2024), they will let anyone in!
Clint Black greatest debut album in country music history. He blew the award show away, winning almost everything. Beat out Garth Brooks for best Top new male vocalist of the year.
With the low quality and static. Still better than pop artist pretending to be country. It's sad that George Strait got rid of the pop sound in the 80s spent his entire career making over 60 number 1 hits. Then all of a sudden Kane Brown comes in with his ear rings and skinny jeans, and makes George Strait covers on UA-cam pretending to love real country music. Then once he got discovered big and got on radio he started putting out pop, and hip hop. People wonder why I call Kane Brown disrespectful, and a disgrace to country music
@@thundertv1431 no they pretend it's all about profit. If you love country music than it should come from the heart. It's very ironic how these new artists pretend to have a love of country music but they sing pop on country radio the majority of their fans are pop fans. They are drawing to bigger crowds to make more money.
@@josephbeach6046 that’s what you think and also great logic there mate, 😂but that’s not what they’re doing at all. Country pop originated back in the 50s when rockabilly stole away much of country music’s youth audience and these days it’s helped the country music genre grow and improve. and the reason for why you think the audience are pop fans is because that’s the whole point of country pop. It’s a country genre that reaches out more towards to a young mainstream audience.
My alan i love u. For over 40yrs we met. Acm mtgs I love you and love to sing with u i had contract but. Too shy not now love to sing with u am 74 disabled arthritis neuropathy how u legs doing i pray 4 u love u my 40yrs crush ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤debbie
I would like to know why Tammy and George never won an award. The best duo of all. They were ripped off. All those years. I didn't know that until recently.

That was country music ❤️👍🎵 This stuff today isn't. I loved it then. Thanks for sharing this with us. Can watch and enjoy it all the time now.
I’ll never get over or comprehend Vince and Patty harmonies 😰
The entertainment is off the charts! Now this is all real country music!
God I miss the 90s 😞🙏🏻
George Strait is one of my most favorite country stars. He is so handsome & what a voice! 'Love you George.
I love how Johnny had his back to the crowd, then turned and said "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash!" RIP, Mr. Cash.
The older Country Music is better than some of the new stuff
Agree 100 percent.The current stuff ain't country...
The current stuff is total garbage
Correction old country is the best!! I listen to all the big winners to day on my music library. Love Reba's big hair 😍 💕 she looked beautiful too. It sure was nice seeing George Jones and Nancy. I loved it. 🎶🎤🕺💃❤️❤️
So true today country is mixed with hip hop and pop
There is no Real Country Music no more
Country Music was better in the 70’s, 80’s, and the 90’s, than the music today that Nashville claims to be Country Music. Some of it’s country and some of the music is rock. Thanks again for the real country singers.❤❤ 6:27
I’m a kid again watching this
Those were the best years of country music!
Wow what a walk back in time. I miss these days. Thank you.
Thank you for posting this. So good to see those who are not here with us but we could still hear their talent and love for country music.
Love you honey am disabled so music really helps. Love you

Man look at Patty Loveless , she was the finest thing in country music back then. Still a good looking lady .
The only country music awards show that was ever attended by a U.S. President and First Lady.
And the only person to mention the death of Dottie West.
I mean this show when aired could not imagine that almost every nominee are now legends. Just an awesome time for Country Music!
1991 is when it started. Such an obvious change from 1990 to 1991, literally like a light switch that was clicked on. Best country music ever 1991 - 1999
@godcandy777 I won't argue that. I've seen him in concert 5 times. Now he's a dang liberal sellout. What a shame.
Thank You for a Blast from the Past! Wonderful music and so many beautiful memories ❤💛💙
oh my god, music was so good back then
R.I.P. Naomi Judd
1946-2022
Sad to hear about Nami Judd's passing but glad she had years of life ahead of her when we thought she didn't have much time left. 20:38 is the Judd's award and speech "because of Jesus I know there is light after darkness" -Naomi Judd
Correction....better than all the new crap
Country music in 1991 was absolutely amazing 🔥and I love that Tanya Tucker finally won female vocalist of the Year.
The energy Mary Chapin-Carpenter showed on stage while performing Twist & Shout was amazing. Plus seeing then President Bush and the First Lady directly infront of her enjoying it made this even better!!
I was so happy for Garth when he won. He, Strait, Alan, Clint, and company are who I grew up on.
How Garth could win anything is beyond me. He can carry a tune for 3 notes and then he's done. He sucks!
Me too!!!
Don't forget Trace Adkins he is still
Going pretty strong!!
The 90s were a great time for pop country. It still sounded like country music. Now days you have to look outside of the mainstream to find country music this good

I am glad that tanya Tucker won the female vouglist of the year
That seemed to be a popular win. It sure was a long time coming
It was about time.
I was shocked when seeing Tanya win. I thought for sure Reba was going to win. Because Rumor Has It and Fancy were both skyrocketing for Reba
I was on my way to work a week or so ago . The disk jockey said , he had a classic to play . When he played the song it was ,Pocket full of gold by Vince Gill. I realized at that moment father time was catching up with me
Who else remembers watching this and how happy it made us, now our media is trying to kill us 💀
Hard to believe this was thirty years ago! Thank you for uploading this!
Dang I feel old now (37 will be 38 in May)! 😆🤣😂
I will binge watch these old CMA and ACM award shows on here and not ever watch another present day country music award show. Country was so good and so real and had talent back in those times.
Love them all.
Wow back when country was still country. Love it
It was a good year for all these wonderful song., love it so much
Hi Luke thank you for posting this video I was looking for this video I felt bad for Reba but she did very good hosting that night
Clint and Roy, I remember that song. R I p Roy boy. My cousin in Georgia is up there too. His name was Roy too.
I was so happy that Travis Tritt won the Horizon Award. He absolutely deserved it.
And on top of that, he's one of my favorite country singers of all time, ever.
And later would drop bud beer from a sponsorship pssh. His time has past
Good job Garth. I like that flower. I'm so jealous. Anyway. Great job.

Good job Alan. 👏
Your right the older music 🎶 is the best.

They all was just the greatest!!!
Looking great Mary Chapin.
Clint Black greatest debut album in country music history. He blew the award show away, winning almost everything. Beat out Garth Brooks for best Top new male vocalist of the year.
This video brought back a lot of memories. Lorrie Morgan was my favorite singer at that time
Congratulations Vince 👏.

Me too and I love Jones & Strait!! Glad the Bushes cheered on Garth. 41 and Mrs. Barbara be like “you rock buddy!!!”
Wish the commercials were not edited out 🤣
Real country! Music!!!

Nobody pretends to love country music and cover songs if they grew up absolutely loving country music but decide to do their own musical styles of it

Kentucky Headhunter 's ,I remember you guys.
Always remembered that line when I saw this live at 14. "I'd like to thank my two Georges -George Strait and George Jones. No offense, Mr. President."
Love me some Vince Gill! This was when he was at his prime.
The man in Black.
Saw u mid 80s crazy horse sant ana frontt row u were so good love u❤❤❤❤debbie
Lorrie, and George, R I p George.
Love u baby we met 40yrs ago acm mtgs I love you so very much ❤debbie
Now I remember, got really tired of Vince winning everything for awhile there... Lol.
George Strait should have won more than a few of them

Thank u love seeing George start
Trisha, Long time no hear.
I got to go to this CMA award show and sat not to far behind President Bush who was sitting with Jimmy Dean.
Alright Travis!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is Real Country! Not The new COUNTRY./ Rock..
I’ve always wondered what that cheese grater thing was that the guy was playing on Mary Chapin Carpenter’s song
Anymore please
It is a Saturday night.
Country is coming back just watch ❤❤❤
Love this! King George!!!!! ❤
Great show!!
This is when country music used to sound like country music. Todays music comes up short.
Yes this is what real country music is....talent, people that actually knew how to sing and class.
Some of the new stuff isn't bad sounds great to me ❤.
I could never figure out if Vince Gill felt like he wasn't singing well, or if he was shaking his head like that as part of his performance.
When I Call Your Name may have been the last true country song.
I would like to know why Tammy and George never won an award. The best duo of all. They were ripped off. All those years. I didn't know that until recently.
Mary Chapin Carpenter was as good as it gets.
Patty Loveless 😍
I love George Strait 💜💜💜💜💜❌❌❌❤️🙏❤️
