This is only 3/4th of ALABAMA. Mark Herndon was the drummer for all the years they toured and became famous. Herndon was only getting paid 100.000 dollars a year while the three cousins became wealthy. When the band retired, Herndon had to take Randy to court to get any type of retirement from all of his years of service to the band. Today at the ALABAMA Museum in their home town, they only show items belonging to the 3 cousins and barely mention Herndon. To me being a long time fan of the group, there are four men in the band and Herndon will always be the Drummer.
Yea that sure was very unfair to treat the man like that. Supposedly Randy is a Christian but very ungodly to not include Mark as part of the band as a whole. Maybe they had an agreement of some sort.

So there was this band not too many people heard of yet but I thought holy cow these guys are good. Wasn't too much longer they were getting airtime, and I remember thinking that was that band!! Alabama. Thanks for the music.

I never knew why my momma loved Jeff so much, until he was gone. He was the BEST guitar man.
We live very close to where Jeff had his home on the lake in Guntersville, Alabama......We enjoyed his free concerts in the park with his "Good time band"...plus every Saturday he and his wife Lisa hosted a show on WTWX in Guntersville.....he is missed.

Ended up being sent from Ft. Ord Ca to Fort Chaffee Ark for the aftermath of the Mariel boat lift. Had the one-day pass for the entire time we were there and went to the Arkansas State fair. So there was this band not too many people heard of yet but I thought holy cow these guys are good. Wasn't too much longer they were getting airtime, and I remember thinking that was that band!! Alabama. Thanks for the music.
